Welcome New Members

Hello

I started playing this game when Civ 3 was out about 2 years. Now I am playing Civ 4 and I am as hooked as ever.

I would like to Thank all who contribute their time to develop this site. I have printed out and read many of the articles from the war academy- these articles have been very helpful and entertaining. Really - This is a great site- I have to say thank you twice!

There is so much about this game that I enjoy. I plan on making maps and learning about cusomization- but the game play is so fun and addicting, I can never get to move on to these different areas.

My play style - I like to build huge cities - I think I just like to watch them grow and get the feel of the increasing productivity they have. Then, I usually just have one or two neighbors that I end up crushing. I am happy to play at the chieftan level mostly, but have had some sucess up to the regent level.

hello,

I have been playing CIV since the first release. The FFH Mod rocks!

"What? What about Civ?(1,2,3,4)"

I used to play "Call to Power" alot, and I've played one of the real Civ games a couple of times, I think it was no. 2.

Hi, yet another new guy to the forums, My first Civ experience was when CIv II was one the 1st playstation! waited years till I was 'grwon up enough' to buy my own pc and then a mate gave me civII test of time, then bought Civ4 (coudn't find civ3 in any stores and didn't have internet), unfortunately my Pc was too slow, but now I have recently bought a new PC with vista (curse that operating system! ) and it still doesn't work!! if anybody can help, please message me, email me, ANYTHING!!! I need my daily civ, or I shall go mad!! no seriously!!:crazyeye:

Lets see I have played various Civs on and off for some time. I tend to stay away from communities due to fanboys, but I have heard Civ's people are different. So I decided to finally take the plunge so to speak.

I am a very avid gamer as I have been for going on 25 years

Civ IV has to be simply the very best strategy game I have played in the past 10 years. For a game to finally surpass my love of simcity is just... profound :) . After having played and gathering, what I feel is a strong understanding, I want to see what the community has to say. Perhaps its age, but for the first time I have not been able to top off AI and have a chance at the game. So with that, Hello and you can just call me Narva :)

Hey,

I just joined here looking for more invformation. A friend of mine from school introduced me to the game, but I'm still quite a newbie and figured reading posts here might help me out a bit.

I got thrashed though! The problem was that my nukes could only hit certain cities. It just wouldn't let me nuke other sities, my opponents capital for instance.

did you fire an icbm and it did not hit? May be the ai had built the SDI project
or you could not select the city with the icbm icon?

Although I'm a new member, I've been watching you for about three years. I'm an old boy in my mid fifties and still trying to get to grips with the game. Been playing Civ 3 for about three years and Civ 4 for the last twelve months. Still getting my arse kicked big time:cry: Used to play chess at mid club level (in my youth) but finding Civ to be a big challenge. I'm addicted to it and keep looking up tips on this site. Only really started Civ 4 in earnest this last month as my Nvidea 6200 card wasn't up to the job, I encountered serious lag in the game which was frustrating. I've recently installed a Radeon X1950 Pro which is the dog's bits. I am looking forward to getting up the confidence to join in on a multiplayer sometime in the future but you lot are a bit above my skill level at present. I'm not even sure if I've put this message in the right place, although I can touch type I'm not too hot on this ere e-mail business. (It was a wooden framed blackboard and chalk when I went school) All the best Al.:)

Hi! I'm Felix, and I'm new not only to these forums, but to Civilization in general! I had Civ III and have just started (about a few weeks ago) Civ IV and enjoy them very much. This a very informative site and I look froward to both contributing and dowloading Civilization files in the future.

Hi, eveybody! I've been playing civ sence my neibor Sherri intoduced me to civ II. I really got hooked on the III series, especially Conqeuest. With the introduction of priates(never played, but own) and civ IV, I knew it was time to update the computor. And update I did from HP 1st generation(win 98) to toshiba 3rd generation(vista). This is the first time Ive ever visted this web site and all my playing time has been off line. So... really what I have to say is long live Prince Henry of the Portuguese!!!

I've skulked around here for years, visiting to collect scenarios, patches, and utilities for my venerable civ II and civ I editions.
its a great site.
I've played Civ II for years but have only now decided to monkey with the scenario editor.
As for waiting until now to join, it was a Zen thing.

Hello community!

I've been a civaholic since part I and I'm from Germany. Currently I've got a lot of ideas for a realistic and very complex world-of-today-mod for Civ IV. Unfortunately I got neither time nor the modding ability to create this mod myself. So I am gonna post all my ideas into the Moddine & Customization board and I hope some people will like them and start building a mod upon it... :)
Read it :)

I hope you like it!

Cheers,
Jan

Hi everyone, im Barnetti,#

Ive loved all CIV's since Civ II which is still the best IMO.

I joined up to ask a question (below) but hope to swap some CIV tales in the future!!

Firstly, im new so be nice to me!!! I've looked everywhere for an answer to this but i cant find one so im hoping some lovely person will help me,

Im trying to expand my city, and so im trying to rack up some food, as per all previous CIV's. The problem is, my food seems to be going towards productions (such as settlers etc) and not towards the food bar to expand the city, its bizarre!!!

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks,

Barnetti
