Welcome New Members

My favorite version of Civ is CivIII (rise and rule MOD). I feel that the game is 95% complete. What I would like to find are programers and graphic desingers who would take this MOD to the highest level possible. I feel this game is better then CivIV in many ways. Any takers.

Hi all, new to forum, been playing Civ since the original addictive substance was unleashed on an unsuspecting public back in the 90's. Long time player of Civ III, new to IV.

Greetings all. Civ seems to be the one series I can't shake from the addiction list, so my new plan is to consolidate that addiction by talking about it. It's quite a genius plan, I think.

Greeetings. I am new to CF. I have played Civ3 for a while, and have finally got Civ4 working on Vista. I have even got the multiplayer working on my home LAN with my daughter who has a Mac.

I am a project management executive working at a large bank in Charlotte, NC, USA.

My other interests include golf and model railroading.

Happy New Year!

Hello everybody: for sure you could not believe, but although I'm playing CIVILIZATION since his first DOS release, this is my first time joining this wonderful forum!!!
I'm from the land of the ancient Two Sicilies Kingdom, nowadays under the italians domains since 1860, so my first contribute will be a simple mod for Civ4, in which I'll create the Kingdom of Two Sicilies.
Bye!

I'm not sure you CAN play with a PC and Mac, especially because the Mac patches are released AFTER the PC patches, and how will the Mac users play Multiplayer at all until their patch gets released? :crazyeye:

Hello
I've been lurking here for some time now and I figured I should join.
I've played all of the civ games except the first one and a few of the expansions and hope to get BTS pretty soon

Hello, just joined. I play CivIII vanilla, warlord at the moment, and have been reading up on the academy articles here for a couple of weeks. My Civ experience goes back to playing CivI with a bunch of mates late at night in Uni computer rooms, then CivII on the old grey plastation. Quit computer games for a few years due to starting a family, now thought I'd dip my toes back in. Still just as addictive.

I just joined as well, hello! I've been lurking here for a short time and signed up mainly so I can search. I'm a pretty "casual" player of Civ4 Warlords, not having/wanting to spend the money to get BtS just yet. I say casual in quotes because my fiance of course thinks I'm addicted to Civ4 now.

She might be right, but there's nothing wrong with self-delusion, right?

Thanks for all the great information. I have been playing Civ since Civ 1, never knew there was such a large community out here.

I've never played Civ of any kind before. I got Civ IV BtS for Christmas and finished my first game last night. Believe it or not, I'm an old time gamer. 48 years old and trying to keep up with my son gaming wise (it ain't gonna happen). I am much better at strategy games (first person shooters is hard on my blood pressure:crazyeye: ) so my son thought a turn based strategy game would be right down my alley. HE WAS RIGHT! This is a great game and I've only played it once. I was in DEEP trouble until I read some tips from this forum. I feel like the city screen is pretty important and I'm still trying to figure out what actions affect what. I figured out I didn't have enough workers. After correcting that, I made a comeback and got into 3rd place in score then it happened....two civs declared war on me and the rest is history.

I can't wait to start my next game and the knowledge I have acquired should help so thanks to all that have contributed to this forum because it definitely helped me get a better grasp of the game quicker.

I just have to figure out how to combat the "just one more turn before I call it a night" syndrome. It's been awhile since I saw the sun come up without any sleep. Tough on a guy my age!

I became addicted to Civilization II on the Play Station I, yes old school. I finally purchased part IV Gold addition w/ the Warlords package. However, when the game starts uo, I getr a message for an "invalid device", voice capture disabled, and I do not have an option for the tutorial. Are they related??? I'm plaiying the game w/out it, rwead the manual a few times, but I'm a little lost. If you could help, I would appreciate it.

Hey there, have been a closet CivFanatic for many years and decided to check out the forums thanks to the complexity of Civ IV.

Hello. I have Civ IV and all expansions. I never really got into it before, but I bought BtS on a whim and am having a great time. This is a really cool site!
