The Events of the Year 1835​

The Spanish Reactionary Wars
The war in south america continued as Spain threw everything it had to regain control of its former empire. So far it had re-annexed the viceroyalty of Peru, and would soon try to reannex Argentina proper.
The war continued, the Spanish grew its army and conscripted forces for the final blow. Meanwhile the Argentinians also grew their army and began to fortify the capital for the upcomming battle.
In the North the Argentinians moved deeper into Peruvian territory, being welcomed by some of the anti-spanish locals. However the flower war would end soon as a rebuild Spanish army (this time formed w/ well trained Spanish regulars) arrived and swept throgh the back of the Argentinian army. The divisions were cut up from their supply lines and seem to have evaporated. However many of them managed to hide by crossing the border into Brazil and hiding in the rain forests. From here they attempted to march to Venezuela, but this was an unrealistic attempt (even w/ Brazil allowing them through their territory). The territory they were to cross was largely unexplored large tick Jungle with no roads and treacherous rivers. It is unknown what happened to the Argentinian Army of the north, somewhere in the Amazons they were lost and never returned.....
With that problem dealt, the Spanish pushed back into argentina, but not paraguay, in a moment of military brightness, they instead went into argentina and isolated paraguay itself. Soon all of the north would collapse and the armies would link up around Buenos Aires.
A portion of the Government had abandoned the capital to make sure it would surivive even if the city fell. They moved to Cordoba.
The Spanish Southern army started a series of diversionary attacks that enabled them to completely surround and put the city under siege. The spanish lacked any real artillery strenght other than the one provided by their fleet, meaning that the city kept up despite the bombardment. Thousands of civilians abandoned the city (unknown to the spanish, this was done so the defenders would have plenty of food and medical supplies to hold longer).
Messengers were sent in an attempt to bring the Generals and political leaders to give up the fight, but they had decided to hold to the end....
Slow communications back to Spain left no understanding attempt to wether storm or continue the siege, after several days of discution, the siege was maintained.

The Indochinese Crisis:
France has maintained a strong expansionist force, and in Indochina her fleet continued to try to force them to open up to trade (and give France complete trade rights to their ports). The indochinese continued to refuse, and nothing seemed to go anywhere.
Ming Mạng and Tự Đức brutally suppressed Catholicism and attempted to undo French past influence. Tens of thousands of Vietnamese and foreign-born Christians were massacred during this period, an act which would mean Catholic nations of Europe to retaliate (specially that of france). The reactionary adherence to Confucianism during this time also meant that the Emperors refused to allow any modernization or technological advancement. When conflict came (if it comes), as a result of this isolationist policy, the Vietnamese would be happily out-matched.
The people of france want punishment to be delivered!

The Blood Betrayal- Czar against Czar
The great ball started, the Czar of Russia, along with some of his personal guard arrived in full dress uniforms. The people were dancing and laughter filled the palace. The Czar of Ukraine came, told the music to stop. He had a present to his older brother... the room was left empty. Something was suspecious and the Russian soldiers were on guard. Suddenly curtains were lifted and they were surrounded by ukrainian soldiers on all sides. "I have always been your shadow... i have always been second. And i hated it when you made me Czar of a puppet backwater nation. But then i developed this nations economy and i realised that i could do better. I realised that i could rule both Ukraine and Russia in a re-unified state!. I am no longer like you, no longer a monarch that doesnt care for the people. I shall create a liberal state and a contitutional monarchy, your days are counted".
The Russian Czar kept quiet, he didnt know what to do, he looked at the balcony and said "treacherous dog!". The Russian Guard grabbed him and pulled him under a heavy table as bullets flew. "You wont last long, the Ukranian said, as of now your son is dead and i will be the next in line to become Czar, you will appear in the newspapers killed by bandits on your way here... your guard incompetent to do anything."
The russian soldiers were still on the ground behind the few cover that there was. They fixed up ballonets to their rifles, but most being officers simply took their swords out. After the second ukranian volley, they ran, using themselfs as human shields to their Czar, slow ukranian reloading time allowed them to break a window and run out. God was on the side of Russia that day, for altough most of the Czars guard was dead, the Czar was alive, he dressed like a woman and made it to russian borders. At his arrival the nation was about to crown Alexander of Ukraine as Czar of Russia too. But everything became clear and order was stablished.
Alexander had no other choice but to mobilize his army and throw it at russia to take St. Petersburg. A large war had started in Europe....

Modernization Update-In China, Mexican investment has bursted the modernization rate in the country. Mexico started to receive even more chinese immigrants and place them other than in California. However it is now turning to be problematic. Being a minority in the new places, they face discrimination and racism. Those Chinese grow desperate and unhappy.
In The Ottoman Empire, Wise use of resoruces make them almost complete their modernization. They had already a somewhat civilized army, so when modernization is complete they will start w/ a larger army.
In Persia reforms began to take place in which in the long run might mean modernization. Portuguese are currently helping them transform their country at unexpected high speed. Investment from european nations will help boost it.
Japan joins the colonization game as it expands into the philipines...
Canada, A revolution!
In Canada a revolutionary newspaper continues to be printed and w/ a martyr, the movement has reached alarming levels. The Prime minister does not understand why, despite his actions and fears the heavy investment of foreign powers towards the separatists. He also wonders why the British did not send soldiers to help crush a revolt that seems to get closer and closer. The Canadian army is on the ready, altough there too seems to be some problems. He now demands full British backing if Canada is to remaing British.... and needs it now!.

The rest of the world is rather normal, other than a huge growth of Prussian strenght in every respect...
