WH Discussion Thread

The (sadly) few games I have managed to play in this mod the amazons have always been easily wiped out. I actually decided to take pity on them one time and saved their last city from the Dark Elves, only to see the thick girlies declare war on the goblins a couple of turns later. I couldn't save them from themselves.

Estalia always seem to do well.

I only played one game where the amazons were the third power in the world. It was a monarch game and the Orcs were for a long time the first and although they were placed on another continent they tryed twice to invade my continent (and nearly succeeded). After I defeated everyone else except the amazons on my continent i invaded the orcs and defeated them. I was playing as the dwarves, one of my best games.

I think that Agricultural civs tend to do better, the higher difficulty level* you play. But it depends, in my current Westerland game the Beastmen are the real powerhouse, with a continent of their own (wiped out Ulthuan and Goblins), and 44% of both area and population.
Me, I'm stuck in the middle of four civs, so they can only attack each other through my territory, or by ship. I'm currently kicking ironless Estalian butt. As usual for me this is on Emperor level.

*I'll rename these. ;)

I didnt meen to offend ya ED, sorry. If I didnt then sorry for apologising needlessly ;).

Also I am planning on making a scenario but it might not be awfully good or complex I am afraid so dont get ya hopes up, just think of Scytale's, LMR's and ED's and smile :) :) :)

I remember seeing the dwarfs do well on my map...a bit too well actualy, but Stormy's right about the Empire, I don't remember seeing them as a threat ever.

Click on the Dwarf Onslaught story in my sig... The Evil Empire (as I'm calling them) has wiped out the Amazons, Ind and is thwomping Chaos (IIRC)... If it weren't my short (but extremely successful) war against Sylvania (wiped 'em out), the Empire would be pretty well on their way to a domination victory, but I control almost all of the 34% of land area needed to prevent that. I already, thanks to my policy of not having any cities above size 12 (due to not wanting to deal with pollution), have ICS-ed my entire territory, so I already have about 38-40% of the entire world population.

In one of the first games I played in WH 2.0, I played as the Empire, managed to make a huge land-grab on my continent by beating Ind's settler party to a 1-tile isthmus, then, later in the game, I managed to build ALL of the free-unit wonders (including all of the knightly orders) except for the Thieve's Guild, so I didn't even really need to train any units... I just concentrated on infrastructure and let the Knights Panther, Mercenaries, Giant Spiders, etc do all my fighting for me. I also merged my workers back into my cities since I built the Dwarven Engineer's Guild, and had a slew of Dwarf Engineers at my disposal. I won that game with a resounding domination victory.

I played a few good games with Reikland too and managed to win after a very long war with the Khemri, and i know that practically every civ, given the right circumstances, has a chance of becoming a superpower. I guess the Empire wasn't so lucky in my games so far. Going to read your story now Hikaro as I never had the chance (work is eating 80% of my time lately).

OK, threw this together and wanted to get some initial reactions.

- plan on giving this guy a pair of axes, but still looking for a good model

Good? Bad? Suggestions? Start completely over?

:wow::wow:

they look great!! Stormy will be very happy :bounce:

perhaps make the chaos symbol on his chest a different colour (or the armour a darker colour), coz at civ scale it doesnt really show. and he looks a little chubby, too, or is that just me? :hmm:

@mrtn: about the screwy diplo, what is the actual problem?

I agree about the comment on the 8 pointed star.

The problem with the dippy is mainly that I'm too lazy/uninspired to write it. :p

If his armor had more black in it (I'm assuming the red is the civ coloring) I'd be able to use him as a Juge-Arbiter UU for the Archadian Empire in the FF mod....

But Fan-freaking-tastic job, so far! Mapp (one of the renderosity vemdors) has a huge pack of free weapons props in the free downloads section that includes some wicked looking axes and spikey maces and stuf.

i like the star one better but i guess you cant see the star on civ scale so i think this one is better :goodjob: the fur cape looks wierd on the front view, maybe if you give him the other ones cape it would look good and instead of 2 axes you can make a sheild with the symbol on it
