What a vasectomy feels like

Oh man... I've always assumed that one day I'll probably have to have one of those - and this just makes me even more nervous about it.

Everyone's experience is unique. It seems I found the actual operation more painful than most, but my recovery appears to be really good. You'll read about people using ice-packs for days and walking like John Wayne for a week, but I haven't needed painkillers since the first night.

The boys are slightly swollen, but I'm not finding it actually uncomfortable. In fact, I'm starting to feel a bit of a fraud about taking it easy around the house.

This is by far the nuttiest thread I have seen.
After having read the OP I now know that I can tremble with laughter and anxiety at the same time. :cringe:

You said it.

The urge to :run: was all over there reading that detailed account.

Plus I keep getting unpleasant flashbacks of a little boy walking around bowlegged and sleeping with his blanket raised and tied to the ceiling. :cringe:

Gotta complement Kafka2 for his sense of responsibility however. Not all of us would have the balls to go through that. And with just a local anaesthetic too.

Great read, Marquis the Sade would be proud :)

Imagine a sensation like a corkscrew, colder than liquid helium, boring down into your testicle, upwards into your rapidly-shrinking cock, and backwards into your prostate. Rrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Dude! Uncalled for. :D

Thanks for bringing back the memory of it all. Yeah, been there, done that.

However, one highlight for you is this: The next time you have sex it will probably be the best sex of your life. Those just-healed areas will still be oh-so-sensative at that point, so the experience will be like nothing you have ever had before. That will last about 4-6 months until things get back to normal so enjoy it while you can.

Remind me to skip this operation.

Wonder if this is less painful than a shot to the "pills" that causes scar tissue to form (blocking the passage).

I also heard on the radio this morning that some vasectomy patients begin to suffer from demetia. The "fish" get absorbed (somehow) into the blood stream, and the antibodies that are created to fight it also seem to affect the brain.

Pffft.

They surveyed 47 men with the condition being treated at Northwestern's Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Center, as well as 57 men who did not have PPA. Their ages ranged from 55 to 80.

Of those with primary progressive aphasia, 40 percent had undergone a vasectomy, compared with 16 percent of the others. Those with PPA also suffered the ailment an average of four years earlier than the others.

Preliminary data also linked vasectomies to another form of dementia involving behavioral changes. Among 30 men with frontotemporal dementia, more than a third had undergone a vasectomy, the researchers said.

So it's a rare condition, the men having it (one assumes) are middle-aged, and most of them hadn't had vasectomies anyway?

Terrifying. Anyway, what's on TV?

So, after reading that I'mma have the woman get her tubes tied.

I'm hope your kidding. No self-respecting man who claims to love his wife would put her through that just because of his fear of undergoing what is a very safe and simple outpatient surgery.

I don't think it's causal, but correlated.

In other words, you might have to be crazy to get one of these ... ;)

I had a vasectomy years ago. I got it on Friday afternoon. I spent Saturday moving as little as possible, and by Sunday afternoon I was fine.

I'd much rather have a vasectomy (again) than a root canal. Those hurt for a lot longer. :run:

Just the thought of a vasectomy makes me wish I was dead.

There are different procedures for vasectomies, and mine was at the level of a little local discomfort, and nothing at all like what Kafka describes. Just lucky I guess.

Root canal, on the other hand, involved driving a red hot needle deep down into the centre of my soul. Which was surprising, as I didn't know I had a soul, let alone that it was located in lower right four.

I don't think I'll ever get one after reading that account

Two things:

[A.] You always have the most interesting threads of anyone on this forum.

[B.] OW

Quoted for Eternal Truth. Both counts.

But...I wouldn't have to face such a thing for quite a while yet, if I ever do. I suppose the mental preparation has to begin now. That and the procedure given to my father which meant he had to have a tube stuck up...err...in the front for a few days, for his prostate, is making me think I should just take my chances.

omg i couldnt even finish readin the op. im a sissy:(

Just checked in to see if this thread is what I thought it was, and yup.

Im sorry you had to go through that, but why would anyone want to know what that feels like, unless theyre getting it done too?
I have no idea. I very interested in reading about it, but I can't say why.
