England. It has been England in every version since the original. Not about to change now.

The Persian inside me has gotta say Persia (but the English inside me says Persia too).

The American inside me says Random though.

Greece man, I am going to befriend all the city states and get a diplomatic victory!

On warlord difficulty. (Ok maybe one up if that gives me free settlers)

Siam of course,

Greece is also very interesting

because I wanna utilize the profit of city states as much as possible

but it only got ancient unit I love to play medieval game :)

I am really anxious to play as the Iroquois. I played as the Native Americans a couple time on BTS, and i wanna see how the Iroquois ar played out. Then i will probably do America like i usually do.

Japan, purely because they seem to have the most red in their borders. Also, I kinda voted in the poll before Zeroes were confirmed to be quite a bit blander than I expected, but still: Samurai!
The next game I will probably be Persia, and attempt to play a financial game where I buy everything I need.
The one after that I'll play a warmonger game as China (bonus points if Lhasa is a City State on the map :p).
And finally, I'll play as England, just purely out of patriotism.

Definitely definitely Aztec.

I'm trying to scale myself up to Deity, and so far most of my games have turned into thousand year wars where they will never ever want peace. At least with the Aztecs I'll get some bonus out of it!

I think I play on too crowded of maps...

I'll look what staff has which state and when I see which one is the best for me, I'll pick her.:)

America- keeping with tradition. I believe i have played the U.S. first on every version of civ I played (aside from the tutorial in civ2).

I'm going to play the Aztecs first, unless I talk myself out of it and change my mind 1800000 times between now and late Sept. Which seems likely. But here's my reasoning:

1) In Civ 3 and 4, the only thing worse than playing the Aztecs was playing adjacent to the Aztecs. How you supposed to learn with those fools on your borders?

2) In Civ 5, the Aztecs actually look to be useful and enjoyable to play as, with a clear early game strategy of "Kill all the barbarians and use that to buy tradition/honor social policies that make you better at fighting" coupled with a late game strategy of "Kill everyone on the map and use that to buy the autocracy/order social policies that make you better at fighting."

3) I really liked that Aztec mod for Civ 3 with enslavement.

4) I can win a cultural victory just by bulldozing my enemies? Yes ma'am.

I'm also going to use my psychic powers to say that my normal Civ group (best friend, his girlfriend) will play Rome (because he pretends he's Italian) and China (because she always plays as girls, regardless of stats).

Rome, always.

It kind of surprises me the amount of people playing "America" (a name that slightly pisses me off - Canada, Mexico and Brazil also exist in the two continents called America) since it is such a latecomer.

After Rome, maybe Egypt for a bit. But Rome is first and last.

Rome; I'm on a Rome kick atm.
"America" (a name that slightly pisses me off - Canada, Mexico and Brazil also exist in the two continents called America)
When Canadians, Mexicans, and Brazilians start calling themselves "Americans", maybe this complaint might have some ground.

Songhai -> Siam -> Iroquois, I really do not understand why so many people want to play as civs that have been in every first installment of the game. Step out of your boxes and try something new.

new can come later. I'm american, so I like to play as the U.S. I didn't play U.S. too much in civ4 as I didn't like their uu, ub, and traits. Maybe this game will be different.

Later after I get a feel for the game, I'll play the Songhai or other such civ.
