I another thread one were missing the Celts and it came to a big diskussion of they should be there insted of another civ. But when the expanison come what civs would you like to see.

Here are my possibilities:

Vikings: Thing they should be there. There empire was not only the scandinavia country(Denmark, Norway, Sweden) But also Finland Iceland, faroe Icelands, Part of England, Entire Greenland, And they where the first European to discover America. (few houndres years before Columbus.) They had a religion of there own (The Nodick Myth) And they made several warfare inventions, f.eks. Longboats and Axes.

Maya: Think we need more civs in South Amerika. Maya i think was a oppotunity. Maybe this would make a religion of Sungods possible as both Maya, Inca and Aztec were beliving the Sungods.

Zulu: Another African civ. Would be nice with this one. They have a history off there own in the Civ games. And Eventhought they dind't have much military invention maybe they did invent something for use in the game.

Babylon: We need this great civ. They were enormus when there time was. And they gave us inventions like Calender, Time, and (early)Astronomi. Beside the culture of Babylon was know in all the know world(From europe to asia)

Sioux: The Indians why arent they in the game? They were living all over America before Europeans beat them out. Know for Hunting, Spiritualism, and (after the europeans arived) Horseback Riding.

Turks: They brought Gunpowder to Europe. And Where huge mercents of the Middle east.

Dutch: They had a great sailing empire. And lot of great artist. Where big part of the Caribian explorer.

Austria-Hungary: There Empire where the bigggest in Europe for a centery, until the start of 1900 Where they started the WW1. This is a importent moment in world history. Brought lots of techs like Gas, and machine gun

And then the Cets

Australia- it's just as much of a civilization as America.

And I don't see the point in having the same Native American tribes again. Why not the Navaho or Cherokee?

I know we're small, but we did a lot in european history. That's why I say: SWITZERLAND.

Although I don't have the slightest idea who the leader would be :)

I Would prefere nations that we have seen before. Like i Would prefer the Zulus over the Sumalia etc.

What about Iraq btw. Anyone wanne see them in CIV?

Huns, Celts, Dutch, Maori, Sioux. No reason all the civs should be belligerents.

IIRC, the Cherokee actually sued the state of Georgia. Much more advanced than the Sioux, who didn't even go by that name. IIRC, they called themselves the Lakota. Having a civ called the Sioux both insults their dignity and the dignity of tribes more worthy than them.

This is OT, but how can you even think of an exapnsion considering the sad state of the game now? I dearly hope they fix the bugs before they split their team to make an expansion. :)

P.S. CANADIANS!!!!

Just bring back all lost civs from Civ 3 and I´m satisfied:

Iroquois
Babylon
Zulus
Cartaghinians
Celts
Korea
Ottomans
Scandinavia
Byzantines
Hittities
Maya
Netherlands
Portugal
Sumeria

same with me really

I'd also like to see all of the old Civs in the game again as well as some new ones such as the Slavs and Hungarians, and maybe some lesser known civs like Kongo or Malaka.

Babylon
Mayans
Ottomans
Carthage
Israel
Ethiopia
Khmer
Vikings

I'd like to see the Irish

I would love to see the classic civ3 civs again as well, especially the Iroqouis

Some form of Nordic civilization, perhaps Vikings like you said.

Gaels should be a civ, rather than Celts, but that's just my opinion.

I also miss the Vikings, Zulus, and Carthage from previous Civs.

Then you may want to check here, the website of the self-styled Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, part of the Lakota Nation. ;)

In any case, as I've said before in these threads, none of the civs are meant to be taken in any way as seriously reflecting the attitudes and values they are given The Japanese aren't xenophobic, Saladin didn't represent "Arabia," and Elizabeth I wasn't concerned primarily with philosophical and financial matters. And calling a nation Sioux instead of Lakota focuses the average player upon a known entity, however distorted--because this isn't about historical reality. It's about playing games.

The Vikings struck fear in me when I saw them coming! Being able to marine attack a city when you only had a phalanx or two defending it because you thought it was secure. FEAR!!!
