I'm creating a scenario. The map has lots of cities on it to begin with (ie all cities start on the same turn). After around 42 turns (@ 2 years/turn) all of the trade routes doubled in value (1->2, 4->8)! What setting controls this?

It sounds like CommerceChangeDoubleTimes, but that is only for buildings.

The cities have varying populations, and there was no population explosion in all of the cities.

Also, my cities should only have 2 trade routes, and many do, but some still have 4 routes. There was a civic that provided +2 trade routes which ended, so my expectation was that 2 trade routes would go away, but apparently not entirely.

This is Warlords 2.13.

42 :crazyeye:

Some buildings grant addtional tade routes/income.

In BTS you can mouse over a trade route to get a small tool-tip window, to see how the number is made up (what bonus applied etc.) - i don't know if it will work the same on WL... but worth a try...

*All* routes doubled on the same turn, so something to do with duration. I should probably mention that while it's only 42 turns into the scenario, the scenario starts on turn 288 (out of 525 total turns).

Does "prolonged peace" apply to internal trade routes as well??

It is nice how BtS gives more info, but alas Warlords does not.

Sorry... I never played Warlords much, so i dont really remember the differences...

Prolonged peace sounds like somethink that would be applied on per opponent basis, and only to foreighn routes... I don't get it often tho... So not really sure...

This sounds like the effect of the Great Lighthouse.

Hmm.. I'd think not :p Does add up quite a bit though. Up to 150% in steps of 50% I believe. Maybe the base value just rises over time.

Can you post your save file? Then I can have a look at the modifiers in BtS.

If in this scenario all cities already exist in the beginning, then maybe they are located on different landmasses and you get a boost in trade income after you discover Astronomy??? Just guessing...

Ah yes, The Great Lighthouse does add 2 trade routes in all coastal cities. And it even continues to do so once obsolete! I'll fix this by removing it when it goes obsolete ;)

There does appear to be a cross-ocean bonus that doubles the yield even on internal routes. So those went from 2->4, but even the overland ones went from 1 to 2.

I looked through TechInfos. There doesn't appear to be anything about trade yield. I suppose iTradeRoutes can be used to get rid of the excess routes.
