All right, so I have SimThemePart, SimCoaster, and Sid Meier's SimGolf as part as a package. But, it didn't come with cereal numbers. And when I looked up tech support, they want me to pay for the cereal numbers!

Company is EA. Any clue?

I think your best bet is to actually call the EA Support Desk and explain your situation. They shouldn't have to make you pay for those serial numbers considering how you have the games themselves, and because the games are so old.

Thank you.

And if you're wondering, I sometimes mix up "serial" and "cereal."

You paid for the games, they should be yours. Do your best to get EA's cooperation. If they're useless, there's nothing wrong with obtaining a serial. You bought one from them, after all.

You bought them used, and they won't install? Likely you'll have to resort to an intrenet solution, unless you can return them for cash as the sale was misrepresented.
I don't think the original maker owes you any support if you bought them 2nd hand. Nowadays publishers usually have a disclaimer with the serial number slip that says "Do not lose". It's only the nice companies like Bioware or Direct2Drive that have an online system for retrieving lost serials.

Some good advice on serial numbers: http://compsimgames.about.com/od/gamingtips/qt/serialnumbers.htm

No, I bought new at Zellers. It came in a SimMania box set. I dont remember which one, but it also had SimSafari and SimCity 3000 unlimited.

So they're basically a Canadian Kmart?

I think you should be able to either return it to the store, or fax EA a copy of the sales receipt proving that you bought the game new. If you try honestly and both avenues are closed to you, then that's really dishonest of both the retailer and the manufacturer if they squirm out of a legal purchase. I'd definitely hammer at whoever mans email at EA if that were the case.
