What do we want in Civ V?

Oh, and for the love of God, can we get more devastating consequences of economic collapse?

Like mentioned elsewhere, the “lose one unit per turn” penalty is not really intimidating to large civs.

Any ideas?

Severe decrease in the productivity of citizens? Or, if my civil war idea goes through, perhaps this could be a factor.

Just remember that the Barbarians' names in the list are also grouped by Culture.

i understood the misunderstanding only with the second read. what i meant was not the names actually but the barbarian units to change with the time. in earlier versions late barbs were cav and inf if i remember right. they were a challenge sometimes.

Not sure if mentioned, but I would like to be able to change the defaults (on general in the editor) based on what age you are in (or if ages go away like in 4, based on some tech advance).

Here’s an idea.

Instead of losing a measly one unit per turn when you’re in massive debt, you should risk x amount of unit disbandment per turn and, dependent on your government (despotism, monarchy, republic), or if they are away from friendly cities, some might turn into barbarians (mercenary/army mutiny, coup attempt, etc) or defect to your enemy (if you are at war). Imagine your own border units or expeditionary corps turning against you.

This may have already been said but I would really like a Civ in which you don't need to buy a $3,000 professional graphics program to edit and create units. Simpler programs like Bryce and Poser should be useable to make new units for the game.

EDIT: And now that I think of it, it would be nice to have a new Civ which you can mod without having to know python or C++.
