What do we want in Civ V?

Greater options for diplomacy (asides from what was just mentioned)--
Pay someone to start a war w/o your involvement.
Outline key goals with the AI you are allied with ("you take these cities, I take these"; "cut off their access to these resources"; "destroy these improvements"; "defend this pass"; etc.).
Trade/gift food/units/workers/etc..
Ability to occupy same square as your ally.

Partisans from Civ 2 were great -- bring them back!

Espionage, espionage, espionage -- take the best from Civs 2-4
Incite Civil War
Bribe units
Incite defection to your civ as well as a general rebellion to new city-state.
Create false propoganda -- "This civ said something about yo' momma!"
Steal technology when conquering a city

More mercenary/pirate type units. Ability to literally fight a small war anonymously.

I edited the first post, I`m starting to transfer ideas from the Petition thread. I removed the names, hope you guys don`t mind, I think it looks more.. socialist this way :D

If anyone thinks I missed a category or something, feel free to point it out! :)

Sure thing, Logitech, and thanks.

Egroen, I`mma add your stuff soon!

I don't know if they can do this in Civ V, but someday I'd like to see a version of Civ where you can type in your responses when talking to other civs. :)

One of the best dirty tricks in CII when playing aggressively was capturing a capitol and seeing the civ split in two, allying with the new half (easy since they're usually quite angry at the others), conquering the original civ, then conquering the remaining civ.
:borg: :assimilate:

The civ3 source code.

#? The ability to define "attack strength" and "Armour strength"...not att/def rating...for example:

Rifleman 4/6 1mv 0 bombard...Spearman 1/2 1 mv 0 bombard
Becomes:
Rifleman 4-4/6-1
Spearman 1-1/2-1

the second number being the strength of the attack or armor...
attack examples:
1 = premetal
2 = Bronze/Iron
3 = early gunpowder
4 = industrial gunpowder
5 = modern projectiles
6 = lasers etc...

Armour examples:
1 = cloth/none
2 = light armour
3 = heavy armour
4 = light flak jacket/light Industrial armour
5 = Modern Armour/ Heavy Industrial Armour
6 = Future Armour

These numbers (Or a more complicated table like this) would be used to determine Ability to hit at all, when determining combat...a Att of X-1 would not be able to damage a unit with a def X-6

because as seen in the past, it's possible for a spearman to kill a tank...this way it would not even be possible...a level 1 unit would be unable to hit a 3 or 4...

now it is very unlikely, but _possible_...Id like Impossible

example: a horde of 500 Warriors, will eventually bring down ANY unit...by basically, beating on it with sticks...I think sticks should not even be able to damage metal (Lets not even talk "Forcefields" or whatever)

I just want Civ III graphics, an editor, and a source code in a semi-easy language.
