This is not the final version - I am asking for useful feedback :)
Eg in the final version there will be an OST playing always, so the speech (my own voice, btw) will be heard along the OST, not as solitary as here. But the video does show the inevitable progression of the first 40 seconds of the game/movie.

Story is: You arrive in front of a door, after apparently a very long-winded journey. But it seems you won't be able to go through that easily.

I actually liked the voice acting, it works quite well as is.
The rest... is mildly intriguing? I would not mind knowing how is progresses.
Which, I guess, is the best effect one can ask from first 40 seconds of anything.

EDIT: as for suggestions - is the look of that note intended to be evocative of what/whoever is behind the door? Or is it more of a placeholder design?

The notes are the center of the game. If you noticed, the reply came rather fast - and the same happens for a lot more notes, regardless of what is being asked by the protagonist. At some point the protagonist asks the person behind the door how they can write so fast. The answer is... nice ;)

The voice acting is quite nice, I really surprised you sound like that.

Going after a long journey, and finally arrived at the destination, just to found your target destination is a close door that wont be open for you is a kind of horrific situation that many people can relates or understand. It's even good to just leave it as it is and end it there if it's a short story not a game.

Like what? A vampire? :)

I can't make money out of selling bathwater, ala simp-queen, so I might as well be creative.

Game will be released by the end of the month, and I will also make a movie version...

I still think that door is the way. That's what I think.

It isn't. Or rather it isn't accessible. The actual location the person wants to go to is indeed behind that door - but he cannot reach it that way, not as intended. Much like you can reach the ground by falling off the 10nth floor, but you wouldn't actually live and in this way you won't have reached it.

Ie while the calculation of the place is correct, that of the way there isn't.

(that's what the letters from behind the door say anyway)

You asked me what I thought. I told you what I thought. I've got my reasons for thinking what I think.

Since you aren't behind the door, you may as well not be that cryptic and share your reasons :D

Anyway, obviously it depends on how one deciphers the metaphor here. I had a specific thing in mind, cause the story is thematically close to Kafka's "Before the Law".
But obviously if something else is thought of as being behind the door, the meaning changes.
Likewise if the person/thing behind the door is not identified as an authority.

There's a little sign on the video that says "This is the way"

When I start a thread asking what you think about my avatar, you're welcome to reply as such.

Let me guess. It is a future version of himself
passing back the notes he previously received .

On steam or on playstore? For pc or android?

I think Steam is only for games you have to pay to dl?
I do plan to have it on Steam, costing $1, but first it will be at Itch, when you can download without paying.
I will have to become familiar with Steam, though, cause Itch allows donations but they are voluntary ^_^

Pop up the rating first by giving a free early access to your acquaintances, asking for a nice 5 stars in return for a free entertainment (fair enough I guess?), then later on launch a full product with 1$.

You can charge people also on playstore, I think the steam market is larger but the competition in playstore is much lesser. AFAIK.
