Julie Delpy? Hey, she's a French actress. Oh I think not so many people know her but she's not bad.

Ok ok, I'll stop here, don't want to fall into a hot babes topic again!

PS: The French actress' name is Julie but nobody cares.

Hey!
My name is just a fictional one, actually I don´t even know how I came up with it, but I think I was searching a cool name for a flight simulator....and Tracid is cool, isn´t it?!?!?

------------------
TRACID

"Attacking the enemy´s plans is best; next is to attack his alliances; next to attack his army; the worst is to attack their cities." Sun-Tzu (the Art of War)

My name is just after my fave civ in civII. I don't especially like to play them, I just love having them as the enemy. They are nice and predictably nasty.

My name comes from Monty Python's movie called The Holy Grail. The best movie of all times. And my favorite filmaker is Terry Gilliam

------------------
Bring me a shrubbery and I shall spare you (maybe)

|Partly in tribute to my cat called 'little jack' as he is non-predicatable, except by chaos theory...chaotic!

Finalised once I played counter-strike on a server with a dude called Chaos_Dragon and to piss him off I said I was the
cwm40.gif
kittenOFchaos... his kitten!

He was pissed off

and thus I got my jollies and gave my kitten the tribute he deserved!

miaow 4 now.

RR_Aquilae is the name of a variable star in the constellation of Aquila (Eagle). Variable star is a star that changes its brightness over a regular period. Aquilae is the genitive of Aquila in Latin and RR means that the star was the tenth variable discovered in this particular constellation. I added “_” between the words, 'cause I thought there must be one.

Why then I chose this name? First of all, I’m very interested in astronomy since I was ten years old. Second, I also love birds. Third, the brightness in spring and summer (in Finland) brightens me
smile.gif
too, whereas in autumn the decreasing of light also darkens my feelings
frown.gif
And fourth, in Civ games, of course, I reach for the stars.

Yeah, most people around here just call me 'Loaf'. I don't really mind, but I also don't really understand it. <blah blah blah blah blah> Still, 'Loaf' is faster to type than 'Warden', so I suspect that's why people focus on it.

It's far less complicated than all the stuff I deleted from your quote, Loaf. Your name has 2 words, we tend to call each other by first names here, so we choose the first one. That it's faster contributes, but is probably secondary. We generally don't know enough, and certainly don't want to be bothered to think enough, to know about Old-Middle-Past-Future English.

Nothing personal about the blah-blahs and your name actually having some intelligence to it. Just having fun.

And to answer the topic question:

Anyone who knows the work of Bill Watterson knows my origin: Calvin & Hobbes! This comic strip (and it's legendary writer) perfectly captured what it is to be a kid, esp. a 6-year-old boy. Some of these are simply
rotflmao.gif
hysterical. As Leowind said to me recently: "Nothing else today comes close." Too bad Mr. Watterson is not still creating this.

Why I chose it: I had almost never posted like this and I never had a good "handle" before. I was looking for something appropriate to this site. I like to play & win Civ by spaceship. I love Calvin & Hobbes. End of story. The
scan.gif
(scan) smilie probably contributed a little while I was deciding ... looks just like Spaceman Spiff, Ruler of the Cosmos to me!

Now Spiff must disguise himself as a computer guy before the slimy Megazord ruler of QX-12 (my boss) comes to investigate my prison work. (I'm trying to dig a way out when he's not around.)

I KNEW some smarta ... uh, I mean, someBODY would say that! Just couldn't resist, could ya? And of all the smarta$$s in all the forums on all the sites in all the world, you had to say it, Ka.

OK, sadly, I'll justify this with a response: because it's obviously a first name, dumba$$! I oughta take you over my knee and <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/spanking.gif" border=0>

Just having fun!

Hey another astronom fan. Btw, I think it's a double star in the Aquila constellation. So it's "masked" regularly, hence the magnitude variation. But off-topic...

Spaceman Spliff now there would have been a good name.

Seeing as this is particularly spammy post I just like to say Spiff that the posts that I have seen of yours have been excellent, I can now see why your return was anticipated so much.

btw Where did you go anyway?

First, MH, thank you. You are too kind. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/blushing.gif" border=0> Now stop embarrassing me. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/wink.gif" border=0>

Second, my return was anticipated? I'm shocked. I figured I wasn't missed terribly much. My last post (before this week) was end of January. I got 2 PMs since that time, which I just found last weekend (thank you to Leowind & Vlad_i_lenin, wherever you are). I responded to each then, so only those knew I was even considering posting again. Loaf (I think) also said something about "rumors of my resurrection". Where did that come from? Who rumored what where?

Third, I didn't go anywhere. I got VERY involved in a major computer upgrade at work (I do computer security for a well known American company). I worked several 50 hour weeks from Feb to cutover in mid-April. Then another month of clean-up from the fallout. Then I chilled a bit, realized how much I thought about and missed folks here, and returned.

Again, thanks for the high praise and thanks for asking.

I only posted there because Loaf gave me the link above. I saw this first, THEN posted. I had no idea the topic was out there before seeing this. Apparently, everyone else knew but me. (Thanks again, Loaf.)
