Jaguar, for all reasons listed previously.
 
Keshik. So much fun to see my Mongolian Horde thundering across the plain demolishing everything in its path.
 
I realize this poll shall probably be a close one. First we have the Jaguars (spammable from turn 1!), then we have the Janissary which is healed 100% after a won battle, and then we have the Almighty Keshiks, night riders that move as swiftly as the wind and slip through the shadows (hey, that sounded cool!) Keep on voting!
 
Keshik lost for me because of the resource requirement. Sure, horses are common, but you can't be certain you'll have them every game. Went with Janissaries.
 
Both the Keshik and the Janissary are excellent units with fairly large downsides:

The Keshik upgrades to a melee unit, meaning it loses all its promotions and the unit you end up with is no better than a freshly built one, no matter how much XP you've earned.

As with all unique musketmen, the Janissary has a very short lifespan, and there's nothing that upgrades to it so they need to be built/bought within a narrow window; on the other hand they keep their special ability and any promotions on upgrade.

Ended up voting for the Keshik since it's so dominating in its time - and highly upgraded Keshiks are still useful even when obsolete - that I think it works out better overall. If the Janissary were a unique rifleman instead then it would be the winner no question - good enough to take the Ottomans from their spot as one of the weakest civs IMO.
 
Jaguars by a long shot. Easily available, best upgrade path, and often heal to 100% health after combat too, especially with March promotion.

The Janissary has a 25% attack bonus that allows you to ignore Rifling longer than you would want to with any other Civ, though, so their window is larger.
 
Jaguars. I haven't seen the older threads and don't know the listed reasons, but here are mine:
Available early.
Can explore almost as fast as a Scout on maps with a lot of forests/jungles.
Less downtime due to healing -> good for barbarian hunting -> good synergy with UA.
 
Jaguar - I like a UU that I can use right away.
