Well going by above definitions I would be conservative (I wouldn't call it conservative at all, and I can't see myself being conservative by any standard, but there you go!)

Catholic is like Christian, but more wacky. Haha those wacky catholics.

What's so whacky about Catholicism? At least we don't thinkwe are born-again or dunk ourselves in rivers many times over to be baptized :D

Hello to all those brothers and sisters of the Catholic Church.

edit: Hi to the non- Catholic brothers and sisters, too.

Once, be fair. Also not necessarily rivers. And of course it's far more sensible to be praying to mary  but lets not get into this, 'tis not a good idea to argue over religion (you might get converted  ).

This could be a good sitcom idea. Make Way for the Catholics! Zany pope jokes galore! :D

Isn't conservative Judaism the same as orthodox Judaism? Admittedly, my knowledge of Judaism is pretty slim, but I was only aware of two main factions of Judaism. Reformed; who adapted their faith to the changing times, and Orthodox; who didn't. If I am wrong, please correct me and I'll ask a moderator to change the poll.

Atheist...

yea. there are 3 types. reform, conservative, orthodox. and order from less religeous to more religeous. so yea, moderator, change it.

Other. I believe in reincarnation and I do not accept that Jesus was the son of God (and I will not pray to another mere mortal, which sometimes makes religious gatherings awkward when I attend them. Nobody asks me to say grace anymore  ). Someone tried to convert me, but didn't really get anywhere. I have read a lot of the Bible and various Christian texts for this reason. I do try to keep an open mind where I can, but I was not overly impressed....

If you don't mind me asking, omichyron: Why do you believe in reincarnation?

Topic drift in the "Why do we worship celebrities" thread got me to wondering about this.

If you are non-committal about religion, as I am, just vote for what you were raised as.

I was raised Catholic, but I'm pretty ambivalent about religion these days.
Confucianism is not a religion; it's a moralistic and ethics system. There're no god(s) being propogated by Confucianism. It's simply a series of books telling how humans shld live their lives and relate to other humans.

That said; I don't particularly believe in any religions or higher beings nowadays but I was brought up the traditional Chinese way i.e. a mixture of Confucian ethics, Taoist folklore religion and Buddhism. ;)

Jewish Conservative added at switch's request. ;)

Ugh. I wrote a huge response and this thing erased it. Well, to make a long story short, I cannot see a merciful God permitting eternal punishment, and I cannot see anyone being happy when trapped eternally in an unchanging happy place either. I also do not believe that new souls are created at the rate new people are born. There are a lot of people on the Earth. I doubt there are that many different souls. I would be inclined to say that some are repeats. Finally, I cannot comprehend not existing. Reincarnation, with a stop between lives at some heaven type place seems to make more sense.
