What kind of a car do you own (or drive but not own)?

Two door Ford Probe LX (3L V-6). Crimson Red. Same as the last time this thread was made. Looking into a Pontiac Grand Prix.

Finally running into some problems with it, at 170k miles. A gasket on the engine has slipped a little bit out of place and it leaks a bit of oil when I turn left or park it and turn it off. Also spraying a little bit of anti-freeze when I fill up the little overflow tank to the side.

The anti-freeze thing is an easy fix, but the oil leak is expensive only because of the labor costs (and I'm not mechanically skilled enough to fix it). I also don't have the tools for the job.

Still runs like a champ though.

Me, I drive a (relatively) worthless 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. I probably owe more than the thing is worth, but then I'm not looking to sell it for a very long time. Mostly for city driving, so it'll probably need a transmission rebuild before any other major repairs are needed, but that's still a long way down the road and would still be cheaper than buying another car, even if the repairs cost more than the vehicle is worth.

HEY! I know they've been awful in the US, but Ford are steadily rebuilding their rep here in Europe. Just look at that Mondeo!

I own a Mazda RX-8. Technically it has 4 doors. It has a tiny little 1.3 liter rotary engine. It makes my 45 minute commute (each way) very enjoyable though with 238 HP and 6.0 seconds 0-60.

I love that car! It's unsellable in Norway due to high omissions (= high taxes). Otherwise I'd own one

Actually, Ford is rebuilding their rep over here as well. Problem is, they sell all their worst cars on the US market. We don't get anything as cool as that Mondeo over here. Most of the ones we get are ugly; the only exceptions are the Mustang (a gas guzzler) and the GT (also a gas guzzler, and out of most people's price range and/or ability to drive).

Heck, we don't get good looking cars from anybody out here, aside from imported sports cars (Porsche, etc.)

My girlfriend owns it, I drive it. It has an awful purple/blue color.

During wintertime the doors tend to freeze shut. Thankfully the luggage compartment usually does not freeze, so on several occasions, my girlfriend who is rather petite, has had to enter the car through the luggage compartment to start the engine and unfreeze the doors.

Late last week my I drove my Mustang GT (a V8) to Albany and back, a bit over 300 miles round-trip, 95% highway driving. 25 miles per gallon per the in-car computer and the gas receipts/odometer pencil calculations. That's 5mpg better than I get with my '01 Ford Escape (relatively small SUV).

Well, driving about 60mph consistanly, won't make an engine drink a lot of fuel, even if it is a V8.

Yes, I guess that pretty much sums up what I've heard about US Ford

Even at 60 mph, that's very good for a muscle car
