What languages do you speak?

je ne parle pas francais.

porqoui? je suis un anglophone!

I only speak English. They tried to teach me french but it didn't stick.

As said before, Chcago dialect of Ukrainian Yinglish. Although after not using it regularly for the past decade or so, I have grown very rusty. I speak English as my second native language. French I can somewhat pass with, but only barely. Formerly I was pretty good in Spanish, now I can barely understand people speaking slowly. I know a couple Italian phrases, but mostly only from knowledge of French and for culinary purposes. I can sort of make out Haitian Creole, same with Hebrew and Yiddish although for different reasons.

Is there such a language as "Scottish"? :scan:
There are two actualy. Scots Gaelic, the native Celtic language which is very closely related to Gaelic, also known as Irish Gaelic or Irish. Then there is Scots, which is a Germanic language originally spoken by lowlanders in Southern Scotland and Northumbria. Scots is so closely related to English that it is very often considered a dialect of English and not a unique langauge at all.

EDIT: Kan was faster, oh well.

English and French. I'm also working on Anglo-Saxon-- I plan to time-travel to Alfred's court some time in the new year, so I figure it's a practical project. ;)

English, of course. Spanish and French to GCSE standard. A little bit of German - 44 hours total of lessons. I can read a tiny bit of Latin - two school years of weekly lessons. I can understand Welsh platform announcements and road signs.

Oh, and - duplicate thread

Oh yeah, forgot about Latin, I understand it perfect. Took some lessons and was able to speak somewhat correctly some time ago, but forgot.

You seem to be really good at languages... :hmm:

So, you learn languages and dont need to practice them to remember them?

American English and Japanese

Finnish and English... both are like mothertongues to me, even though my parents speak English about as well as Mika Häkkinen or Tommi Mäkinen :D

EDIT: Oh yes, and I have the basics of Swedish under control

English, and I suppose I should be able to remember a bit of French as I studied it at IB standard level.
