Native language - English
Second language - Romanian. Spent years in that country, had a Romanian wife and, later, a Russian one who had lived in Romania for many years. Alas, both dead now.
Third languge - French, now long in disuse.
Fourth - Spanish. Never fluent, though, and mostly forgotten.
Fifth - bad. But still in regular use, notably when the computer plays up.

Only English.

english. i can string together semi-coherant sentences in gaelic, [e.g. is maith liom caca milis, chuaigh me go dti an siopa ], and i`m learning french and wishing i picked german instead.

English is my native language, though I still remember enough Latin from college to be able to write it well enough (I can't speak it, though). I am currently enrolled in a class to learn Irish, and hope to have the basics down shortly.

Well, the simple fact that you, and English speaker, who do not speak French asks the question is a clear proof that English makes you dumb and prevent you to reach such level of enligthnment, while as for a French speaker like me its obvious, is an evidence the French language is greatly superior to the English one.
As one French politician (I forget who) once said, "The French language puts words in the order in which one thinks them!"

I speak French competently, if haltingly, and negligible amounts of German and Italian (I'm much better at reading these than speaking them).

What languages are you fluent in? Written, spoken, or both? Which one's your mother tongue? Where did you learn the others? Which ones do you use regularly? Are there any that would you like to learn?

You be the judge of your own fluency, but if you only know fifteen words of something, you're not fluent. I realize there are countless languages missing - the ones listed are purportedly the most common among internet users.

English. While I'm not fluent I'm pretty confident that I could get by well in a Spanish speaking country.

I can write and speak both perfectly. (Except speaking the Spanish "rr" with the alveolar trill, I got the uvular one down pact though)

I learn Spanish in a class and mostly on my own time teaching myself.

I use English everyday, Spanish not unless I'm practicing in front of a mirror or typing up e-mails in Spanish to Hispanic friends.

I want to learn Italian.
