There's some cool stuff out there in the land of synthwave/retrowave. Night Drive (2007) by Chromatics and Secret Diary (2008) by College are a couple of favorites. I think Daft Punk's soundtrack to Tron: Legacy (2010) is underrated, as well (I like the movie too, fwiw, as long as I don't think about the plot too hard ).

Apparently every synthwave band has a album called Night Drive. I like to drive while listening to Night Drive album by Timecop1983, instrumental version:
