What needs fixing before we release V25

Well by the time you get to bronze working you should already be experimenting with metals such as Copper Working. Perhaps I could phase out the effects of the stone tool workshop over various metal techs (ex. Copper Working, Metal Casting, Bronze Working, Lead Working and Iron Working).

I think the effects should be replaced by improving lines of tools. This would be more reflective of reality and would help to counteract the dramatic decrease I'd predict is coming with the changing of the slave mechanism.

Who's going to actually DO those changes btw? I think we had a fair consensus there didn't we? Where there were differences was a matter of concepts that could be held to tweak for balance down the line if necessary I think.

I suppose those wouldn't have to go in before v25 but it'd be neat to see them in place before the next release as they really are some great solutions. I guess it just takes someone saying "I'll do it" or "I'll do this part of it and someone else can do the other parts". I'm currently engaged in a race to finish my current project but I may be able to take a small portion if necessary.

I just changed the Stone Tool Maker. So yeah. See the SVN thread for details.

They already do with the various "smiths" buildings.

I am going to have to remove the tornado graphic. It is supposed to last only one or two turns since it has a feature depletion rate of 800% but in my last game it has been on the same plot for over 40 turns. This is unacceptable since it removes access to a resource.

Aw the graphic has to go? How come it can't just work like its suppose to?

I can't "fix" that. I can only remove the graphic.

BTW when did scribal school change to require written tradition? It seems to be doubling the effect of that civic. I could understand the civic reducing the cost of the building but every civic choice after writing assumes you have scribes to do the writing.

What does the graphic have to do with the mechanic? If it stays there then that is a game mechanic problem and has nothing to do with the graphic.

Yes, School of Scribes is now the Civic building for Written Tradition.

You can see the other Civic buildings in this thread.

Note I think I changed it before v24 was released.

There are a number of problems with that

1) there is a Great Wonder that provides free school of scribes. So it needs to be change to that civic also.

2) the Extra Diplomacy mod requires both the School of Scribes and Rhetoric

3) see my previous post.

Hall of Records. Nothing quite as powerful as a library, but along those lines. They'd often use caves to store records in the earliest days, potentially on the walls themselves in frescos and such.

1) don't know why, it has been there since the beginning of AND.:mischief:

3) I was thinking of adding "Archive" which upgrades to "Library". Archive requires tablets and writing gives mostly the same benefits of Library but with a higher maintenance cost since tablets are not as easy to store and write.

I was also thinking that is what the Library of Nineveh (by Orion Veteran) should give. This library also called "Royal Library of Ashurbanipal" is said to be the inspiration for "The Great Library".

I think clockpunck, steampunk and etc should be moved from World wonders to national wonders.

1. Because I almost never use Kemetisim as my religion.

3. Should the "archive" be a Civic specific building? Or TB's idea of "Hall of Records" or both?

steampunk indirectly gives incredible +20% to science bonus. it should be addressed if the culture will be unique only for one player.
I just got to archaelogy, and I have the only ancient relics resource on the map. So now I can build Rosetta stone, which gives incredible +80% to science bonus. Something should be done with that.

regarding +cash, most of buildings, especially huts and etc should not have it. what if you just subtract -1 from every cash generating buildings. that'll solve most of the cash problem.

I was wondering if/when the viewport issues with event messages will be fixed. That is something that should be fixed before we release, in addition to the Viewport graphical issues. The TH era may have to wait, as I won't have the time to get started on that for a week or so, setting up a new computer takes so much time.:(
