What new wonders would you like to see in civ VII?

Pilsner Urquell Brewery?
I was thinking more St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George's Basilica, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, St. Barbara's Church, Karlštejn Castle, or Pernštejn Castle. :p

When I’m looking for potential wonders, I usually type “famous <culture/country> buildings” or “<culture/country> wonders” and see what I think is most fitting (which is usually just whatever doesn’t have too generic of a name and seems important/interesting from a quick read). That means I might opt for something like Wawel Cathedral or Four Domes Pavilion over the Imperial Castle or Cloth Hall, but I’m okay with that.

Yes, please, to Wawel Cathedral. Its mishmash of styles is absolutely fascinating to behold.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City, the world's most visited christian holy place.

The Great Pyramid of Cholula, the biggest pyramid in the world by volume.

Any Polish architectural wonder

St Mary's Church in Gdańsk is one of like top three greatest brick temples in the world, it was the second largest Lutheran church in the world for several centuries

Many great examples from Kraków, such as Wawel Castle, Sukiennice and numerous temples

Other architecture of Gdańsk, Poznań, Warsaw, Toruń, Wrocław also has its wonders

Malbork Castle, although it was originally built by Teutons ;)

Wieliczka Salt Mine, a wonder you can only build on salt resource, would be a very novel concept

That's a cool idea. A wonder that can only be built on a specific resource. Cool!

Would like the see the Grand Banks off of Newfoundland as a Natural Wonder. They need a few more sea based Natural Wonders. (Not to mention Marine National Parks.)

Obviously, the benefit would be increased fishing yields of some type.

-----

The Grand Banks of Newfoundland are a series of underwater plateaus south-east of the island of Newfoundland on the North American continental shelf. The Grand Banks are one of the world's richest fishing grounds, supporting Atlantic cod, swordfish, haddock and capelin, as well as shellfish, seabirds and sea mammals.

From Mexico I'd like to see Pyramid of the Sun, which should already be added to the game. Regarding to modern Mexico, my choice would be Palacio de Bellas Artes.

It's hideous, though. :( If we're going to have a modernist church, I'd propose Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, though I believe, like all of Frank Lloyd Wright's work, it's copyrighted.

We've had so many churches as wonders though and never a brewery, though there's probably a reason why.

So just call the Cloth Hall Sukiennice instead, like it's already called in Civ 6. :p
I think it would make a great wonder if it doesn't come back as Poland's unique infrastructure.

Native Americans - A topic which I wished Firaxis would implement more into the game but I keep coming back with what more can the company do. I would like to see that their skills and culture would be greater in terms of fishing boats and farming giving crazy bonuses since they truly lived off the land. Horses and Buffalo to be more significant in the game and bonuses. Archery to be given a massive bonus. Teepee as housing bonus? Buildings Wonders Leaders to be candidates include Crazy Horse and Crazy Horse Monument, Little Bighorn & Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, Chief Geronimo, Chief Seattle, Sacagawea Monument, Dignity Of Earth and Sky Monument etc.

When the Cree came out with Poundmaker, I thought it was great but I have not played them for years now as well as the Aztecs and other Native tribes. I just believe they fall flat against other Civs you can choose from which are much more exciting to play.

Any thoughts on Native tribes and how Firaxis...Ed Beach and others could improve. Why would you choose Cree over Bismark or other powerful leaders.

The Native Americans are hundreds of different peoples, not one, and the romantic "tree-hugging Mother Earth Noble Savage" stereotype is not less harmful than the "just plain savages" stereotype. Native Americans were not less environmentally destructive because "they were more in tune with the land"; they were less destructive because they lacked the means and motives to be as destructive. (And incidentally, Native Americans could at times be terribly destructive to their environment. In the eighteenth century the Eastern tribes hunted the beaver and white tail deer to local extinction. The Plains tribes, prior to acquiring horses, hunted buffalo by driving entire herds over cliffs; they certainly did not use "every part." Outside of North America, the Maya civilizations collapsed in part because of overtaxing their environment.)

I'm all for more Native American representation, but it should be thoughtful and appropriate to the specific Native American tribe being represented. It certainly should not be based on romanticism or overcompensating for guilt.

That's a matter of opinion. Cree and Aztec are two of my favorite designs in the game. :dunno:

I am all for Indians to be in the game...how best to represent them and I am biased in the fact that I would want their UA UU etc to be major bonuses and strengths for that Civ in the game...perhaps can't build the U Boat or Film Studio or Electric Factory but what they can do is just as critical for a victory.

Agree with everything said about North American native tribes and the myth of the "noble savage." They certainly exploited and changed their environment. The book 1491 deals with that issue. :)

I believe the idea that the Maya overtaxed their environment is up for debate, though.

As far as I'm aware it's generally agreed that the Maya did overtax their environment; what's up for debate is whether that was the only or primary factor that led to the collapse of their society, with modern scholarship generally favoring that it was one among a number of factors.
