It's always fun to watch wars play out, even when you're not involved. I especially enjoy large-scale wars with multiple participants. So this is where you can come to post the wars going on in your game/games. If you feel like it you can even create alliance names for the parties and roleplay it out a bit. Whatever you want, this topic doesn't really have a goal other than entertainment.

My game as China

Rome
Spain
Russia
Inca (vassal of Rome)

vs.

Vikings
Germany
Netherlands
Mongolia (not warring with Russia)
Portugal (vassal of Germeny)

Spain vs. France

Russia vs. Turkey

China isn't in any wars at the moment but it's likely to happen soon since Mongolia is annoyed with me and chances are there are at least a few nations annoyed with my vassals, Babylon and Khmer.

What year is it? Did you miss the Great Wall, how come the Rome is still alive and has Inca's as vassal? :crazyeye:
And who got conquistadors? Screenshot would be nice too:)

In my current game as Germany (currently 1800s AD), the only active war is England vs Vikings. Mostly this war occurred because of England gaining Bergen at a recent conference.

Haha, wow. I just ended my Netherlands game, being involved in several world wars. The first occured around 1920 with the sides-

Netherlands (Me)
England
Vikings
Persia
Egypt
Carthage
Aztecs
Turkey
Spain

vs.

Germany
China
Khemer
India
Mongolia
Japan

With Vikings, Turkey, and Persia as my vassals, Carthage and Egypt as England's vassals, and Japan, Khemer, and India as China's vassals. I'm pretty sure this stemmed from a war that occured in the early 1600's which collapsed France (Germany declares on me, France, and England. Ends in France's collapse, me taking over Independent France). The German-Chinese Allience also declared war on another allience, consisting of:

America
Portugal
Mali
Russia

With Mali as America's vassal. Soon, that allience also delcared war on mine. This war ended with China, Germany, the Aztecs, Spain, and Mongolia collapsing, with Khemer almost collapsing (in fact, they did about 15 turns after peace). After that war, I picked up India as my vassal. Around 1970, Russia collapsed, which sparked America to cancel it's deals with Portugal for some reason and make a defensive pact with me. Portugal soon signed one with Japan as well, and a few turns later, they declared war on me.

Which, needless to say, put them at war with the entire world.

This war ended much swifter, with the nuking of Tokyo and Lisbon and the rise of Spain from the grave. Good times.

Why won't people just do a conquest and be done with all world wars?

Not every can be a pacifist-yet-some-how-a-conquering-GOD you know! I can't handle that much conquest, even with no stability. I can't get the vassals, and always lag behind in tech. I am also completely ******** at espionage, so I cheat a little... :mischief:
BTW, I played as France to conquer Spain, it was much harder than you said. I had to race against Portugal to get all the independents after I finally conquered, lost, and reconquered Spain in a matter of 3 turns. They eventually popped back up in 1600 (Which got me mad, because I was stable, and Maya didn't pop up, nor Babylon, Carthage, China, Inca, or Egypt. So I made Spain mine again with a little help from world builder).

Anyway I was in an early 'world war'. It didn't take place in the Pacific or Asia, but the main battle fields were in Africa, North America, and Europe.
There was 3 mini blocks:
1:
France- Mexico, Spain (3 cities), Algeria
Rome- Libya (2 Cities)
Netherlands- Denmark, New York, Southeast Africa (2 cities)
2:
Russia
Germany
3: Only between me and Britain
Britain- Halifax, Guiana (Georgetown), Cape Town, Florida, Guinna (Bathurst)
Mali (vassal)

This is basically the seven years war.
I was preparing for war with Britain to take Guinna, Halifax, and to destroy Savanna to place New Orleans, and hopefully get Mali as a vassal.. Rome was unstable and was my ally. Germany and Russia declare war on my block and I was Afraid Rome would fall, making me unstable, but he built the Taj Mahol in time for a quick pick me up. I got my troops who were going to invade Britain's colonies in place, and declared war on them, knowing that Rome and the Dutch would be my buffer from the East. Within two turns, I got what I wanted and settled Louisiana.
The Dutch and the Germans were going back and forth in Denmark, so I sent two cannons to aid them. The Germans were scattering into Rome, so I went in with 4 musketeers and wounded them, killing my own (better then Rome falling IMO. I then sent in four cannons just as the Russians were coming in a wave of 6. I drove them back, killing four of their units.
Rome made peace with Germany and Russia right after that. Soon, me and Germany. Then Netherlands and Germany, status quo, with Denmark back and fourth at least three times. After I defeated a Russian wave or 8 in my mainland, the war was over, and I made piece with Britain.
The ending move of the Anglo-Frankish War was when my curassier in Orleans hit a musketman, a settler, and a worker when Britain tried to resettle Savanna on the ruins. If I could have redone it, I would have waited one turn and taken New Savanna. then I would have gotten maybe Guiana instead of 200 gold.

After peace was made, the Roman Golden age ended (which I had not known about) and they collapsed. I raised the city in the Alps (had Chichen Itza and Spiral minaret), and then took Rome. I thought Greece would fall first though, but they got a city in Sicily and Popeii. I destroyed the two citied in Libya.

Now a new thread remains: A Russian-German-Ottoman alliance and Britain now got Scandinavia as a vassal. I soon want to declare war on Britain again though. This time to raise Belize, the Guiana, and capture Capetown for the Dutch. This time, I want to get Mali as my vassals though.
I don't know who I can add to my posse, maybe Portugal, but I tell you how the next, real world war goes.

2 main groups in my world war (1950's)

1. Turkey (me)
Russia
Mali (my vassel)
India (my vassel)
America(my vassel)
Netherlands(my vassel, yes I like vassels :))

2. England-Aztec-Canada
Germany-Scandinavia-Italy
Spain-France
Inca(England's vassel)

3.Japan (neutral)

My wardering tank, lonely and without a purpose, takes over a undefeded city in China.
As I am unstable, i liberate it to England.
Several turns later China respawns.
Enland and Inca declare war on China.
Germany for some strange unknown reason declares war on China.
China offers to be my vassel state(:king:).
Group 2 declares war on Group 1.

Lots of fighting all over the world.
America and Britain fighting over Mexico. (America eventally wins :king:)
In N.Afrrica Mali and Spain are battling it out (Mail loses most of it's cities :( , then Spain collapses :))
Amsterdam gets captured on the secod turn and relocates to South Africa.
Turkey pushes it's way into German territory, causing Germany to go unstable
Rome respawns and becomes a vassel of Germany. ( The New Roman Empire contains 3 cities, surrounded on all sides by Turkish culture.(Got to love the UP:)))

End results of the war (I staring to sound like a history teacher):
Spain, Russia, Netherlands and Germay collapse.
America takes over all of N. America(exept for the west coast which is contoled by Japan)
Turkey takes over ALL of Europe (exept for Britain and Ireland, quite an achievement all the same)
Mongolia respawns and becomes vassel of Japan.
Khlimer respawns and I get another vassel :)

Im in the middle of a cold war between Turkey, England and Japan, could lead to a second world war any time soon...

Just finished my game as Germany :D

I had almost all Europa and was Very Stable, but the US were way ahead on Score, so I had to attack & nuke them. The Est Coast fell just before the end of the game :)

how'd you do that i found stability hard to manage after i took over france and russia ;/ Let alone northern africa! stupid stability -.-

I didn't take North Africa, only Spain and Greece. I think that a good way to have some decent stability is to only let one or two workers active, so that your economy is slowly growing up, and you keep having +30-40 in economy instead of like -75

Stemming off what AP said, in my German domination game, sure, I was almost always in war for a very long time, but in the end, there were four dominant empires.
The alliance of the Germans, Spaniards, Turks and Mongols formed, as we conquered our respective areas of the world. (I controlled most of Europe, as well as numerous colonies, while the Spanish had the Iberian peninsula as well as most of Africa, the Turks had the Middle East, and the Mongols took east Asia)
Together, along with any vassals we had, we destroyed the Americans, Japanese, the Arabians, the Carthaginians, the Aztec, and the Carthaginians again.
I didn't want to backstab any allies, nor did I feel like fighting a war on numerous fronts (though I'm sure I could've taken out at least one other superpower), so I colonized my way to victory.

I'm not too sure myself.
After my war with America and Japan, I managed to get Toku to capitulate, though he was very unstable, since I had nuked a city or two of his.
At that point (about 1979), I was solid. But then Japan collapsed, I wanted/needed the land, so I expanded even more outside of my area. And this was conquest, so I don't think I got the stability boost from Resettlement, and I didn't want to switch to Occupation.
So I pumped out a ton of settlers. (like I said, I finished by colonizing a lot - mainly in Siberia and South America) The first time I tried it, I settled all my cities in the same turn. This gave me a massive stability boost from Resettlement at first, but in the end, it only led to my collapse.
So I tried it again...This time founding cities in waves. This worked much better, and with my culture slider up, I was able to barely reach the amount of land I needed before collapsing. (I'm sure I would've collapsed a turn or two later)

I think it's easier in BtS since you can liberate cities, which I believe gives a stability boost when you have 25+ cities. I'd ask the crazy people who've done conquest victories in RFC though. ;)

All of them..... please see the screenshot below. This only shows the civs that I currently have contact with. There are other wars going on.

I actually played a few more turns and now the wars are pretty different due to reshuffling of the "sides" but still very extensive. It is kind of interesting but at some point the madness should stop. It all started back in the 20's when someone declared war on England. Due to chained defensive pacts it was 8 civs vs England and America. England collapsed very soon after, not so much from combat but from the stress of being at war. Meanwhile Mongolia was fighting Japan and its allies, Khmer and China. Khmer capitulated and so switched sides. After a while I made peace with America. Meanwhile more defensive pacts were formed.

Then after that I decided that France and Germany needed to fight so I declared war on France. That led to a massive chain of war declarations. The stress of it killed the vikings who were pretty stable. Yep, they died before a shot was fired. I barely even participated in the war due to me being nowhere near France. Due to the violent nature of this world everyone was making defensive pacts left and right. I even made a pact with someone who was annoyed with me. These new defensive pacts don't bring people into the war but they set the stage for the next developments.

So most of the entire world was at war with the rest of the world, but the massive world war still had identifiable factions. Then things started getting crazy. Russia declared independence from a massive Germany. Egypt came back after my vassal Ethiopia had collapsed and then vassalized to Russia. More defensive pacts. Then..... the Chinese AP asked to declare war on Germany. I had one Confucian city so I was asked to vote. Not having much experience with how this works I just click NO. All of the eastern civs declare war on Europe, then defensive pacts kick in and next thing you know, there are no sides. Everyone is at war with everyone. Oh and then to make things worse I notice that England has reformed. I ask and she vassalizes. Oh oops, now I am in another massive war.

I am sure that I got some of the details wrong but basically, the world is one of unending war. Obviously since we can't fight everyone at once the actual wars aren't that fierce. It feels like everyone has open borders. Since I took that screenshot Arabia has collapsed (due to peace?) and Egypt is no longer neutral (it was taken before the Russian war)

Hi !

I played Russian, got the highest score in centuries.

I don't know why the Russian's strategy guide says that Russian is not good at tech development. In my game, Russian got the first score because of technology. I trade techs in the beginning, but now I kinda ruled the world because of superior technology. By only giving techs, I restore peace to the world.

The Europe Civil War ended only by me giving techs to the other civ. I also influence them to declare war on Mongols. But Ironic, Mongolians is pleased with me, even I truly hate them. They force the Russian Empire to expand their borders to the south, not the east. So I targeted the Turks, Natives, Indians and Independents. I conquered Turkey, and African's east shores, Mumbai and Delhi.

Then I decide to have peace with the other civs for a while. While I used the golden ages to create the Wonders (UN, Eiffel Tower, Liberty). I send expedition to Japan, Australia and the west shores of Africa.

I don't know why, but my stability have gone low. Realizing that a civil war can happen in short time. I decide to start a UN election. Too bad many abstains. Then France and Germany attack me. Then a civil war starts.

Then thats the end of my history. The giant not dead by the hands of my enemies. But dead by the hands of my own people.

First, welcome to the forums :)
With all that expansion to areas outside of your historical expansion zone your stability couldn't have stayed on stable or better for long. You should check the page on rhye's wiki website for the stability guide, it can give you a few guidelines on how to avoid instability and civil war.

This is a pair of world wars I had playing as Turkey:

Turkey
India (Vassal)
Khmer (Vassal)
Egypt (Vassal)
Portugal (Vassal)
France
Mali (Vassal of France)

vs

Spain
Germany
Russia (German Vassal)
England
Greece (Vassal of England)
Netherlands
Inca

while I was also at war with
Mongolia
China (Mongolian Vassal)

Japan and America were the only ones not at war. I had been building up for war with Germany for quite some time, so easily took Wilnus and Berlin (I was too absent-minded to take screenshots of those). I also captured Athenai (the only Greek city), which before declaring independence had been Russian. I defended Khmer from Mongolian invasions and helped liberate French cities from the Germans. I eventually took Hamborg and Amsterdam away from the Netherlands, keeping Hamborg and gifting Amsterdam to my French allies. Germany and the Netherlands later collapsed.

World War 2 was a bit different, as my vassal India had collapsed, but overall I was facing the same enemies (although also at war with Japan this time, with America on my side). Lisbon having been captured by the Spanish in WW1, I attacked on that front first, razing Madrid and liberating Lisbon. Khmer was easily defended again. Air raids on the British Isles and naval blockades slowly starved England into submission, and I decided to just peace out with Russia (for stability reasons. and that winter is quite cold).
