What will the next DLC have?

I want a non-non-european Civ ;)

Austria/Habsburg Empire has been a dream of me for a while, a Swedish Empire could be good too, and both would deserve their place I think.

Zulu is also a must in some point, they are one of the "classic civs" of the game series.

Even if a major long shot (though Polynesia was too), I think the Navajo/Apache would be a great addition. If we're looking for influential cultures, Id say they're one of the biggest contributors to southwestern US culture/architecture. Plus, a civ with a uu/ub for desert terrain would be something new

I'd like to see Carthage, Zulu, Korea, Sumer, and perhaps another N. American civ like Apache, Cherokee, or Sioux.

^Navajo would be good, too.

I demand Finland!

Seconded! :goodjob:
Seriously, I'm guessing Korea will be the next. Perhaps Zulu after that...

There is this Poll about Civ's you would like to see in CiV. At the moment top three is; Zulu, Carthage and Celts.

I demand all currently existing DLC civ's be bundled together at a REASONABLE PRICE and not at the overvalued rates they currently have. Also, DLC in this way seperates players into haves and have nots. If i start a game without DLC because i only have mongol, i alienate people who have the right to use a product they paid for and should expect to be allowed to use.

but if i don't, it alienates me, losing to overpowered DLC cives in MP games. there is no win. they need to stabilize the DLC, and instead of copying everyone elses DLC scam, they need to think about how DLC can be applied in a positive way to provide MORE and not as a way to provide LESS, while disguising it as "more". more what, more money i have to pay to not feel ripped off? that itself makes me feel ripped off.

That said - as a bundle, and not separately, i would like:

Huron Natives: Skræling, as called by the norse who they fought with, they had many wars with the iriqois, mohawk, and french.

Inuet: While not empire-builders, the Inuet hold a uinique indiginous culture - one that has survived many foes from different ages, and their culture still holds true.

Los Millares/El Argar: This Iberian civilization is a pre-roman euro-civ and either will do. Los Millares and El Argar were among the first civilizations to use copper, and El Argar became the monoculture after bronze.

Indiginous civilizations - Prehistoric Civilizations.

Indiginous Civ's in real life are kind of dying out, and they are important to our earth. sometimes, culture spread without empires as seen at sites like Gobekli Tepe. (new wonder please?)

Prehistoric Civ's may not have preserved themselves but if we retrospectively removed them from history, where would humanity be in our advancement?

Im just saying in a game of CIVILIZATION there is more than EMPIRES that matter. This game gives prehistoric civ's the right to try to stand the test of time or indiginous ones to become relevant on a world scale.

for future DLC, i would like to explore more non-empire civilizations, and not "kingdoms" like Siam or Songhai or Moor. I would rather have civ's like the Medeans, Sumerians or Cherokee. Medeans and Sumer are good examples of ancient civ's and cherokee were a strong nation and culture until they were ethnicly cleansed.

In this modern age of discovering ancient sites like Gobekli Tepe and lost cultures - it feels more valuable that civ is as much about discovering antiquity as about going modern.

I hope the Dutch, with the ability to make Polders.
But I expect Zulu to be the next DLC.

Enjoy that. I love the aspect DLC provides, and the $5 they are selling at is not overvalued in the least. I think it's a reasonable price for the content, as long as it comes with a scenario.

Monomotapa Empire,

Finland sounds nice too but that will not hardly happen like Croatia, Basques and Switzerland. Portuguese and Dutch are more likely to be next European civ in the game.

I just want a Netherlands/Portugal duo pack. More seafaring nations! The navy is easily the most interesting aspect of Civ 5 IMO.
I would also like Byzantine and Ethiopia.

instead of a business model where you sell the book as just a cover with 5 chapters, and selling each chapter seperately - i would rather have a complete game.

I don't want 500 DLC items for 5.00 a piece and i don't want to have to buy bundles of their badly made maps.

They need to release their next DLC as an expansion pack that lets you buy all of the civ's in one package for about 15.00 or less along with an apology.

Then they need to make real expansions that add real content.
The book analogy falls flat, because civilizations are not consecutive chapters - you can skip them. I want to be able to pick and choose which civilizations I want and do not want - I don't want to be forced to buy them all together in some overpriced expansion pack.

So no. More DLC, less expansion packs please.

Not too long ago the DLC's were 40% off. (so it was $13,48 for al DLC-civs, $2,70 per civ)
Probably soon, when the summer sales are on, they'll be on sale again :)

I'd like to see Zulu, Minoan and something completely different from South-East Asia, perhaps from Indonesia or New Guinea. There are so many interesting tribes from that area, and there is so much scope for UA, UU and UBs.

I'am greedy. I'd like to see from Europe:
Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth
Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden
Ferdinand II (House of Habsburg)
The Republic of the Seven United Netherlands

From ancient times:
Minoans
Celts

From North-America:
Navajo/Apache (Inuit sounds interessting, too)
I don't know wether it's political correct: Confederate States of America

Middle/South-America:
I would prefer "modern" states, like Brazil or Mexico. Cuba could be funny, too.

Asia:
Korea, of course, think it will be the next DLC
Perhaps a modern state like Indonesia
form ancient time: Scythians
Tibet?

Middle-east:
The whole bunch of ancient cultures like Assyria, Sumer, Israel and of course Byzantine and Phoenicia.

Africa:
Zulu
Khoisan
Ethiopia
Perhaps a modern state like Nigeria or South-Africa

I, for one, would like to see Goths in civ, along with Byzantium, the Netherlands and Portugal.
From the americas Apache/Navajo seems cool, and Mayans, Sioux and maybe Mapuche.
A New Guinea "bunch-all-together"-civ would be nice, along with Korea and some more southeast-Asian civs and another civ from the Indian subcontinent, like the Mughals for instance.
From Africa I want Zulu, Kongo and Ethiopia.

Sweden'd be nice too (says I as a swede), though I don't expect it to come, with Denmark in the game and whatnot.

If it's even possible, I would like to see a civ that's never been used before in any of the games. Something completely new and different would be nice as far as I'm concerned.

+1

Has Vietnam ever been included as a civ in the games series?

It's a large population nation which has certainly set it's mark in world history and Vietnamese guerrilla UUs roaming around could be pretty cool. A 25% combat bonus when fighting in jungle, forests or hills anyone? :)

Rather significant nations like Brazil and South Africa could also be considered.

While I get what you're saying, I can't agree with you. The DLC is cheap and provides me with hours of additional entertainment in playing the same game I purchased before. There's a reason why Civ V is always on my PC monitor and not Tycoon City: New York (freaking love that game...but there haven't been any updates to it and there was never a sequel) or the newest Sim City (even though SC has the exchange, the updates are user-created and not always stable), and that's the fact that it's always being updated and upgraded. It's kinda like the difference between iTunes and Android; iTunes is more expensive and has less selection, but you know the product you are downloading is backed by a reputable company, unlike the things you can download for an Android phone. Plus, $5 doesn't even buy you a sandwich anymore, but it can buy you at least a few days of a Marathon game using a new Civ with new strategies.

I do like the idea of using this game as a history lesson though.
Your idea of including various indigenous people is a good one, it would be fun to have scenarios where you play as the natives trying to keep the invading Europeans (or Asians) out. They already kinda have this with the New World, but I'd like to see far more Civs in general, and maybe including a bunch of Tribes would be a good way to do it.
