What's this quarrel between Super Mario and Donkey Kong?

Why do they hate each other? Why are they always trying to kill each other? What's wrong with them?

They don't hate anymore. They did back when DK used to kidnap the girl who ended up being Peach and Mario had to rescue her. Play it on the Atari 2600.
