Like schöne in German?
ø isn't a letter in the swedish alphabet. Ö, however, is. There is no really good example because... I don't know. It's like the german ü!BTW: How do you pronounce the "Å" and the "ø"? Perhaps with an English example, cause I always xanted to know this. Thx.
Fifty isn't Swedish.TLC? What would Fifty think!?![]()
Ö is like u in burn.
Å is trickier, it's pretty close to a in ball, but my understnding is that it depends a bit on the dialect, could be a bit towards oo in spoon.
What impress me is the Swedish presence online, I mean you find us everywhere, and in masses. We are less than 9 million people in Sweden. New York has like twice that amount. How many New Yorkers do you see online in comparison? (international sites/internet events/communities)

Actually, the a in spawn is a fairly good approximation.

It also has to do with wealth (we can afford computers nad high-speed internet connections), technological maturity of the society in general (well, same as above), and the fact that Swedes in general are extremely technology-friendly (same as above and decent level of general education). We do so like new gadgets! Sweden has been up there at the top of the computers (and use) per capita statistics for quite some time now. The Finns seem to bump us from the top spot tho'.May have something to do with the artic tempearatures you have outside your houses![]()
Seriously, Iceland, Sweden and Canada are IIRC the countries where the people spend the most time online, and not suprisingly they are all really cold countries.
