I was born in Calcutta/Kolkata, India and currently live in Houston, TX... I see North America, but no South Asia?

I didn't vote, but I suppose North America would still make sense.

Difficult one as I live in Greece. I answered Eastern Europe due to geographical proximity, but not as sure about where we actually are, since at Cold War times, we were considered Western Europe.

I would consider Greece to be Eastern Europe. (actually Mediterranean Europe but there is no such option)

In Cold War Times all areas belonging to the European Union were considered Western Europe, but since the expansion of the Union into Eastern Europe this assumption is outdated.

Malaysia, well, it's eastern Malaysia for those who concerned. Being a Cantonese Chinese in ethnics, My ancestry traced back to GuangDong广东, China. But I would still consider myself a 99% South-East Asian(another 1% ascribe to the Chinese culture I adhered to).

Nonetheless, we all came from Eden whatsoever...

Not really. What about the Western European countries that werent in the EU? (like Switzerland and Iceland).

On that note, is Iceland European or North American?

Geographically - North America, politically - Europe.

Politically because it is still governed (at least officially) by Denmark.

But in reality this only means that Denmark is supporting the Greenlandish household (and contributing around 50% of it) as Greenland is not able to support itself independently.

They are politically autonom and Denmark would be happy if they would ever choose independence :)

I didnt mean that in an exclusive way. "All countries belonging to European Union were considered to be Western Europe" is not the same as "Western Europe consists only of countries belonging the Union".

Do you get the difference ?

Well since the EU now runs all the way to Poland I don't think that statement runs true anymore, I certainly think of Poland as Eastern Europe.

London, LONDON, ENGLAND. (was in Toronto and people kept saying they go to London all the time, and then I drove through some small town pretending to be London! Stop stealing our names :()

Most American town names are taken from cities in Europe. eg. New York, New Orleans or Hollywood.

The EU seems to have that effect. A friend was talking to guys from Riga, Latvia, who described their home city as being "similar to any other Western European city"...

Are you talking about Riga or your friends town?

Just be happy Toronto isn't called York anymore.

Ontario also has a Paris, and used to have a Berlin, but it was changed to Kitchener during WWI.

I was born in Moscow (definitely eastern Europe) and live in Philadelphia.

The attachment is my definition of eastern Europe.
Plus Greece because of its religion, Eastern Orthodox.
Minus of course East Germany.

Well, ethnically Pakistani, so I put South East Asia, even though I have lived in the US all my life (since I think, for American immigrants, putting ethnicity is more in the spirit of the poll).
