Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing the patch link! I don't care what bugs it has. It's just nice to actually see the leaders and the map!

I sure wish firaxis would have posted this via ftp or something with a disclaimer like:

"Do not install unless you have SERIOUS issues that prevent you from playing the game. This patch is only for those who are prevented from playing the game at all. For those with these serious issues, install at your own risk. This patch still contains several bugs that have prevented it from passing QA."

Now my only problem is that I'm sitting at work with no way to play for at least another 6 hours!

I just installed the patch... and will uninstall it immediately. The performance of the game is even poorer than before. Not only is the intro-stutter still there, now it looks like a dia-show. This whole patch-issue is really ridiculous.

just wanted to add the changes it made, small performance increase for me, tho mine was nothign to complain about. 2. added graphics option to change texture detail, 3. added window/full screen mode in options. 4. fixed the settler only seeing bread, now i see coins/hammers too. thats it, no errors yet, but im sure there is a damned good reason they pulled it so fast so i still recommend using at your own risk, backin up any saves you wanna keep before installing may be smart too

edit wanted to add im still using 440mb ram and 400 pagefile. and thats start game, no idea endgame yet. keep ya posted

For me there was no "before". I don't blame you for uninstalling it though. If my game ran at all and allowed me to play at least something, I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of getting a bootleg of the patch.

I bow to the patch and thank it profusely.

Patch v1.09 out now, so no more need for the 1.08! Yay... hope it works properly.
