So... I feel stupid.

I wear clogs. It's something I've done all my life. It's not just me, either. Pretty much all my Danish relatives do it, too. But imagine what happens when your clogs have floppy soles and you decide to run on really pointy asphalt.

Yeah.

I got scraped up really bad. My left leg is fine, but my right... Oh boy. Because the asphalt is so pointy, my previously gained scar got ripped out of it's place and, in fact, I actually scraped my kneecap. I got cut so bad I went down to the bone. That sucks.

Because I waited too long, stitches would be useless and I also couldn't clean it right. As such, my neighbor (who just so happens to be the comedian Gallagher's nephew or something) had to use tweezers to pull out the little pieces of gravel in my knee.

At least I'll have a wicked scar, but then again, with my luck I'll heal completely with no scarring what so ever.

That sounds pretty nasty, but what sort of asphalt is pointy?

Some asphalt uses nicely rounded pebbles for aggregate. Some asphalt uses cinders, which have sharp edges on their sharp edges even between their sharp edges. Road rash from the former is much less unpleasant than road rash from the latter. Not that I am a connoisseur of road rash...

EDIT: Dag nabbit Sanguivorant, I did it without reading all the posts. Now I have this stupid edit here instead of a quality skyrim joke!

I can see how that would have been far beyond the expectations. I mean there were five whole posts, who could be expected to review the entire thread?

:yup:

Clogs have floppy soles (or any soles)?

My grandfather's clogs didn't. But he was Swedish, not Danish.

I've had experience similar to that. Less painful, of course, mainly because it wasn't on asphalt, but on some sort of stone tiles. Wet, unfortunately. It led to me falling down like an idiot, and to cursing like a madman the whole time back to my home.

For any bone and ligament damage try glucosamine and calcium, fix you right up.
