Both good choices.
Here are more two:
- Templário - similar to Age of Empires Teutonic Knight (foot unit...) white dreesed and with a red cross along its armour and shield. Perhaps similar to samurai in data, but less one point in defense (samurai's bonus...) and more 1 hit point.

- Nau - galleon with attack capabilities of frigate (white and red crosses should be it's own mark!)

isnt it true that the hosting country usually has a higher medal toal than when it is played in a land foriegn to them?

so i dont think any hosting team tried to gobble up all the hardware, it just happens

And yes, all main land mass should have an CIV: Australia and South America have none... (would England and Spain/Portugal represent them?)

one problem, esquimos dont live in antartica. you could make an argument for scientist or explorer, for they are the only inhabitants.

unless you believe x-files, in that case the UU could be a large ass space ship with losts of weird frozen aliens inside.

Yes, I know. But as there is no natural inhabitants for Antartida, I proposed the most similar, although they live the other side of the world (up and down are opposite sites in a sfere)

And I was kidding, as this is fun to say.

What would be the esquimo stats? 1/1/1, all squares as roads (as the alpine trooper in CIV2...)

ANTARCTICA:
fantasy is doomed. Next Atlantis will be a new civ based in Antarctica after Pangea world split up.

Back to believable scenarios:
There has to be a fatal flaw in the cultural makeup of the civs that did not gain dominance and whom we continue to destroy in our games.
There has to be Murphy's law at work in every great civilization. Why do they blossom and fall? How long was the period of the Spanish, Portugese, Dutch, Greek et al Golden Ages. The shorter the period, the more serious the flaws in that civ.

The Polynesian thread got left off somewhere back on page 2, but I think it's a fabulous idea. Those guys traversed the Pacific in little more than kayaks! Europeans thought making it from Venice to Sicily in a trireme was a big deal.

No Baron Scot, there are about 50 threads on the subject. You should have checked that out before you opened this rotten poll, with its mediocre options. The best one I've seen is Calgacus' poll. It has many more options and much better ones at that!

Anyway, I think it'd be better waiting until AFTER the XP comes out to open any new poll, as the XP would render the options invalid if the poll included any of the XP's new civs.

seconded. We'll all be happy to talk about which civs to add, but if you do a bit more research, you'll get a better conversation happening. I would've thought that a better thread would make the author feel happier with themselves. (please don't abuse me with mean words for the advice-seconding )
