This thread is so old that it is amazing! Its really neat to see how people are posting about their age and then coming back later and updating it.
What ? people don't have to update their age, the point of the poll is to put your birth date, not the age.

I'm from 1980. Played all the CIV games there are.
But I'd also like to update my age (every 10 years seem reasonable).

If CIV allows that: I'm even happier.

1978 here. Been playing all the Civs since the very beginning (starting on an Amiga 500).

Even though there is already a very popular thread of the same type as this, I think this would be better to use :) I have moved up an age bracket in the old one, as i'm sure many other have too.

Cmon the 80's :D (i'm 16 btw)

Edit: You should note that I am now 18, and would slap my younger self if I had the chance.

1987 ftw

edit: 19, and again but harder

Here is an example of what I meant. I understand the poll is birth date. I just thought it was neat.. Sort of like a less interesting time capsule.

im fairly new to the franchise. picked up the playstation version of Civ II about 2 years ago, fell in love with the game and had my fold-out tech tree in lap at all times, then when i beat it enough went straight to civ V bnw =)

Played the original Civ 1 on 66 mhz 486 computer back in 1992. Hmm thats 24 years ago :O
Have played every game in the series since. Hated Alpha Centauri and CIV BE, dont like the space setting in civ games.
Just hoping that AI will be better in the unmodded game in Civ 6 than in Civ 5. Altho Civ 5 AI is quite good in the Community Patch; without the Community Patch, Civ 5 AI is quite bad, even worse than in civ 3 or 4.

Can you even get civ 1 to run on a new computer?

I remember playing the original at my friend's house in probably 92. His 386 fricking cooked. He was the Zulus and I remember pointing out that that didn't look like Africa, and he explained the random map to me. He was just moving spearmen around and then all of a sudden a rifleman lands on his island and we freak out. He was slaughtered and art imitated life.

Just this weekend, I went through and gathered up my old disks. I have II, III, IV, V, and VI, but unfortunately no I anymore.

But you know what? Visit Civ 1 subforum here on CivFanatics.

There is a guy that re-created (from scratch) Civilization 1 in C# I suppose so it runs well on modern machines. It will have modding possibilities in very near future!

Two years is a long time for this to lay dormant. Com'on guys and gals keep it going.

This past was made in 2004 and the oldest year was 1930. I wouldn't have been surprised if someone born before 1930 wanted to vote in the poll. (and probably choose 1930-39 as the next best option)

Though in 2018, 14 years later, the chances of someone born before 1930 posting in these forums has grown less likely. If a person born in the 1920's or possibly even 1910's is reading this, keep on enjoying Civ :)
