Which MMORPG should I get?

Well your entering a mindless grindfest no matter which MMORPG you choose. But if that floats your boat then go ahead.

I will never "get" the MMORPG trend, and this is coming from a guy who is obsessed with oblivion.

Warhammer online. you can wait for a month, right?

I was already planning on getting Guild Wars 2 when that comes out, even though I've never owned a single MMORPG in my life. I've played many regular RPGs in my gaming years. I got to test Guild Wars (PvP) at my friend's place. I created a character and did a bit of PvP.. I obviously sucked since I had no good skills to pick for my character, and wasn't too familiar with the game 1st hand. I think I would like PvE more than PvP and I've heard that Guild Wars is lacking in the PvE area, while they are not in the PvP. I also don't like the idea of buying an old game that hardly anyone plays anymore. So don't suggest anything old lol. I was thinking about getting Guild Wars, but wondering if there's anything else I should consider. I don't like the idea of paying to play, keep that in mind too. So which MMORPG should a guy who likes PvE more than PvP get?

give me your email adress and ill send you a free trial of wow, and you will get 3 times the speed leveling

Another question about MMOs - If you decide to take a break for a few months and let your subscription expire, will your characters be deleted from their servers?

No.

Well, no. But if you quit for a few months there is no guarantee that the game doesn't tank and they take the servers down.

Warhammer holds some promise. (when it finally gets released.) Another to watch for a free trial on is City of Heroes/Villains. If you have an account with PLayNC now you can play both. And they have a good challenging PvE system and a decent PvP system that keeps everything fairly balanced.

Not necessarily, some are far worse than others. For instance, I found Guild Wars to have almost no grind, thanks to the level 20 cap, and being able to create full pvp characters from the start. Eve on the other hand is full of grind, which makes me wonder why I like it :(

It's because you love space and carriers and missiles and plasma and all that wonderful sci-fi in a persistent world full of intrigue, piracy and back-handed deals.
