That dude has some bizarre facial hair going on 
I remember something about movies in b&w that had scenes partially in red. Schindler's List being probably the most famous one, but I think Spielberg took the idea from this movie originally. Can't remember the title, though. Is it from Hitchcock?

It's not a Hitchcock film; I have a vague feeling there may be a black and white and red connection involving Psycho but that might just be the chocolate sauce thing.
