Which religion has the most interesting myth stories?

Zoroastrianism.

You walk across a tight rope and the weight of all your evil deeds bears down on you until you plunge into Hell for a day.

It's like an awesome game show.

Well, you should know what I'm going to say next then.

You say god can do anything. Well what about the stories of Zeus transforming into a swan and raping human women? What about the Norse frost giant Ymir dying, crawling with maggots, and the maggots eventually became dwarves? Why are Biblical stories more plausible than stories in other religions? (Answer: They aren't.) If you say that the Bible stories are true, you don't have much choice but to believe crazy stories in other religions. They're both equally true.

And if you're going to say that transforming into salt must be interpreted, then you can't know what in the Bible must be interpreted and what must not. (On a side note: Arguments over Biblical interpretation have led to wars in Europe.)

I was just saying that your comment to classical hero was silly because it implied that he said things he didn´t - and that only everyday occurrences can happen. I didn´t want to engage in a debate about Biblical interpretation or the truth of the Bible, we have both been there and know that such debates lead nowhere.

Oh, and what wars have been fought over Biblical interpretation? Sure there have been wars between nations where different Biblical interpretations are dominant, like I´m sure there have been wars between nations that like different types of cheese, but that doesn´t mean that the difference in taste lead to war. I.e. show me a historical scenario where people of some nations say:"Your interpretation differs from mine! We must battle!"

Scientology.

(If just for a moment) ignoring the sad fact that people (seem to) believe in it and stuff, it is quite modern scifi story.

Christian bible is another wild scifi story (especially if one reads it "like a bible" =) Would cool to see someday the story of the bible as a science fiction serie.

I was referring to Protestantism and Catholicism mainly.

I first heard of the concept of war over Biblical interpretation from the television show Western Tradition.

Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Hindu make my list, since they're the ones I've had the most exposure to.

Scientology is a good pick because they technically encompass all Science Fiction.

That's pretty good.

I think that pretty much all mythology is interesting for its own sake, even my own (which I will call mythology even when I think it is true).

Although if any culture has myths about lesbian vampires . . .

in your defense, it is a myth that the use of the word 'mythology' implies falsehood. in academia it simply refers to sacred stories and makes no determination about truthfulness.
