Which wonders are a must?

Hi everyone,

I'm going for a domination vic on Immortal (I haven't managed it yet :/) and I'd like to know which wonders I should definitely get locked down.

S.Zeus seems quite easy to get, so I guess that's one, but what about the rest? What's the balance between wonders that directly help you when at war and others that are good for culture, for example?

in my dom games, the only wonders I care about are Brandenburg gate, Prora, Neuschwannstein.

Going for Domination victory, none at all are needed. Let the AI build them, and when you conquer the AIs cities, you'll get the benefit of those wonders they built just for you.

Even Zeus is unnecessary for domination. Certainly, a number of wonders are nice (e.g., Notre Dame and Forbidden Palace for happiness), but they are unnecessary for domination victory.

The national wonders are the most important.
I cannot think of a recent game where I didnt build at least three.

and always at least two/three more depending on my goals and how wide I go

For Domination I suppose the Brandenburg Gate is best. And the Great Lighthouse for coastal maps.

as for general purpose wonders: I am a very big fan of
-Leaning Tower of Pisa
-Stonehenge (hard to get at higher levels)
-Forbidden Pallace
-Notre Dam

On Deity I find its hard to actually build any of them reliably. But you can always take them once you know where they are

Brandenburg is preferred. I would prefer anything like the Himeji and the Great Wall to deny, but not needed.

Brandenburg, Notre Dame, and Big Ben are top priorities to be built, or preferably conquered. Also Pentagon or any other happiness/economy wonders

So far it seems that B.Gate is the only must and N.Dame and B.Ben are definitely preferable.

Does that mean you're not building wonders at all before then or that you're just prioritising other things and building wonders when you feel you can?

The next obvious question is, what are you prioritising build-wise? It may seem an obvious Q for those of you have been winning on Immortal for a while, but I'm new to it and my strategies thus far haven't been working.

The more specific you can be with build orders and tech trees, the better!

You can start dominating whenever, but I like to grow and tech until I have cannons, then start to attack while I bee-line artillery. I take about 4 cannons and 4 of something else and then go attack my neighbor. Make sure to keep on building replacements until your military goals are met.

If I did that I would go with tradition and then open up Honor to coincide with the era of my attack and possibly my UU, making sure I got all the science buildings up on the way.

But like the other guy said, just steal them from other civs. You can always just capture capitals after like turn 300 too. You'll cripple their empire, steal all their wonders and ensure they wont be building anymore haha.

None. Build units instead. And take wonders from other civs.

If you really want some, if you go liberty : pyramid. And machu pichu, maybe.

BB Gate is useful only if you build it tho. GWB with air repair out of the docks are simply awesome You can live without it of course, but its so powerful, that I always try to save 1000 faith for a GE, so I can snag it in case the oportunity arises.

Other than that, all you have to care is happiness wonders, rest doesn't really matter, you are gonna have em at some point anyway.

For Domination, none at all - only National Wonders.

Domination?
Nothing is a must. But Pyramids is by far the best.
If you are planning to keep a lot of cities, Machu Pichu is next best, but don't waste hammers on it, conquer it.
Other than that, you should always spend hammers on units rather than wonders.
Would be nice to build great wall because you don't want to be attacking into it, but its usually really hard to get it.
