That's because many NESers have this Clausewitzian idea that every war is a total war, which is of course really quite silly.

Okay, okay, if you insist.I just gave you those titles. Accept a little praise for once, Iggy.![]()
...have beaten me as a Greek rebellion multiple times.I, on the other hand...![]()
Was that ITNES?Its from an obscure book
@Iggy: I agree with the others. Even though I haven't participated in LINES, it impresses me to no end. Furthermore, even though I have only played in one NES with you thusfar and not a lot in the way of warfare, backstabbing, etc. was given time to play out, you definately did not strike me as mediocre. You were a powerful player, if a bit more honest than some. Then again, I'm just a no-nothing newb
I'd have to say I agree with this a lot- though I wouldn't be too kind to my current updating reliability. I'm working on improving it.LuckNES IV, hopefully.
To be honest though, Iggy is a rather average player; it is in moderating that he trully excels. That said, he is indeed a honourable ally (whether that is good or not), and his countries tend to be the nicest to live in; certainly better than mine or silver2039's. His rulers are simply nice, as opposed to power-mad maniacs, fanatical demagogues or ruthless manipulators most (not all) players tend to end up having, and that makes for a refreshing difference.
DipNES03.*grumbles*
Anyway, Iggy your rubbish.....
[turn to the dark side, consume yourself in your hunt for revenge!]
Seriously now, your an excellent mod, and the only real upsets I've seen is with the Ottomons, and well, tell me a NES where they don't go to heck.
Very true. And if they didn't have to live through the guilt of leading so many of their countrymen to the death. I play my nations as IC as I can, to the best of my knowledge. This restricts my potential for warmongering, unless I'm a fanatical nation like Dashtaka from Harleqin's last NES.Aye yes. Though I'm sure if RL rulers, like NESers, didn't have to contend with restraints to their power and their nations internal politics, they would have gone for total war a lot more to too.
That did play a part, though I think that better planning would certainly have helped. You see, I have this megalomaniacal tendency to obsess over The Plan...*cue Dachs whining about his lack of IM leading to him losing*
The first time, I wasn't really a rebellion anymore, more of a backstabber, and the second time, you were on vacation (sort of), and I was also not a rebellion anymore then (instead, I had something like the third largest army and the best military leadership in Europe).Lord_Iggy said:...have beaten me as a Greek rebellion multiple times.
I don't think it looks great.
I think I'll go back to a penguin avatar when I get back to the Yukon.
