While We Wait: Part 4

Man, I just had a weird dream. das was making a NES. Everything was all wacky. I was in Valhalla from Halo 3 for some reason, exept there were borders on it, like on a map. I remember some Chinese sounding countries right where China normally is, so I don't think it was a normal, up to date map. More like some ancient map or one that an NESer would make for an alternate history.

And I remember flying. It was a really confusing dream.

You didn't mention wanting anything particular from said thought exercise - i.e. you weren't asking anything specific.
Select a group of 60 NESers (you may wish to check the last Census) and arrange them into 20 teams, each possessing as close to equal aggregate skill or ability as possible to one another, by your estimate.
:crazyeye:

Aren't all of you guys missing the point? I thought Symphony wanted us to put together 20 teams of 3 of people of around equal skill level...

You know, unless my reading skills really suck today, for some reason, that's pretty unambiguous.

I disagree. If something's existence would result in a logical contradiction, then its existence is not possible.

Thank you. Of course saying something is possible isn't redundant or stupid, but trying to debate with points like "thats stupid stupid stupid nyah nyah nyah" seems... forgive me... stupid.

Except, now that I read it a second time, I undersatnd it.. Big ooops. *Looks for big foot-in-mouth picture*

EDIT: Looking at the census, I only recognise the following: -

Lord Iggy
Symphony D
das
j_eps
Luckymoose
Warman17
~Darkening~
Half of the Mr. T list
3 from the Lurch list
and a good proportion of the Elvises.

Would skill level be determined by number of NESes won? Or arbitrary selection by a few people? Or by how active they are?

Retroactive deletion.

I don't know much about heatmaps. I only look at them once and a while.

Man, you ranked up pretty quickly. It took me about a month to get to where you are now. Here's my profile. I'd probably be up to grade three, but I have a tendancy to quit games just for the heck of it, or when I'm losing and don't feel like playing anymore. I might even be a Colonel if I played ranked more often. However, I take pride in my Social Medals. Like my 300+ wheelmen.

Commanders of the North American campaign: (Because I wanted to)

Spoiler :
USAoppressed.jpg

(air commanders not shown)

Good progress on all fronts. Estimate: complete surrender of USA and Canada by May 1st, 1949. That will leave the NESer Empire and Sweden as the only survivng countries in the world.

That sounds cool. I like confusing dreams :) I've never dreamt about NESing yet though.

Sweet. Lord_Iggy requesting permission to lead the conquest of the Yukon Territory, and the other northern regions if possible. ;)

Aw, man, I didn't liberate my current area of residence. Oh well. You, sir, Daft, have a much longer attention span with computer games than I; I only ever play through an RTW imperial campaign, for instance, if I do it all in one sitting (also how I beat every FPS I ever play). When I finally got my own computer (slightly over a week ago), I disappeared for two days straight just to completely run through Half-Life, Half-Life 2, and Chapters 1 and 2. But at the same time, I still have about fifty saved games on BTS somewhere in the Renaissance that I just didn't have the energy to go back to.

Oh, and here's a huge wad of terrible opinions. Because it's better than nothing. :p For the record, there is no particular order to teams or to people on the teams; the fact that Symphony D. is the first person in the first team on the list merely means I thought of him first.
Spoiler Teams Thingy :
Symphony D., Flavius Aetius, zxcvbnm
das, Wubba360, Justo
North King, Supermath, NinjaDude
Disenfrancised, germanicus12, foolish icarus
Lord Iggy, Abaddon, Yui108
LittleBoots, Israelite9191, HMS Vanguard
JosefStalinator, The Strategos, Captain2
LightFang, flyingchicken, The Loser
silver2039, Head Serf, qoou
emu, j_eps, Frozen In Ice
erez87, MjM, Fuschia
Thlayli, ~Darkening~, D'Artagnan59
Cleric, Azale, mrpwn3r
Birdjaguar, Luckymoose, Charles Li
Perfectionist, Dachspmg, Daniel Khan
Chandrasekhar, Daftpanzer, justokre
jalapeno_dude, human-slaughter, Sparrow55
Shadowbound, Slavic Sioux, Fulton
alex994, Toltec, The Farow
BananaLee, Swissempire, TerrisH

Let the shootings commence. If you're not there, it may not be because you're not active (I think some inactive people who replied to the census might be on there :D), but because you inconveniently don't fit and would require more reworking than I could manage at 3 AM.

Whoever loses world war NES gets to keep Charles Li and Sp :p

I'm unexistant of some reason, although I think that's fine.

Did you know Fulton and I are from the same site, or is it just coincidence?

Yeah, you guys are from the Frontier, right?

Heheh, Thlayli and ~Dark~ on the same team. :) I'd say that those are quite fair groupings.

What the heck am I doing to give me these weird dreams?!

For some reason I'm driving a car down the highway (I'm not even old enough to drive), there's someone in the back yelling at me, it's all in third person (think about when you drive a warthog in Halo 3). For some reason, I decide to turn around to go a different direction, flip over the car (Once again Halo physics take over) but I'm able to spin the wheels the right way to get the car to "unflip" and I keep driving. This is where things get extremely weird.

I stop the car and start walking around and come to this gate. All of a sudden, some Asain guy starts yelling at me. Him being Asian wouldn't really matter exept that he had an extremely strong acent and sometimes started talking in a different language. He looked fairly rich and started to mention "his million dollars". This is where I start to realise that I'm dreaming and I realise that line is from Robot Chicken. So I start trying to talk to this guy who is now acting like he's the coolest person in the planet, saying how cool he is and how uncool I am.

Then I fell back to sleep after I woke up. I started dreaming that I was camping with some of my classmates. For some reason, this turns into me chasing my friend and his girlfriend while they are attacking people with things that look like weed wackers. They run into someone's house, which I guessed was my friend's parent's house. I soon learned it wasn't his parent's house and we had to explain to some old lady why we were all in her house.

I think I need to get to bed earlier.

Well, it's always fun to write down dreams, I find them very interesting (even other people's dreams). I get weird 'out of control' ones quite frequently.

The best kind of dreams are those in which you can control your dreams - it's your own mind, so you can do anything you want
