While We Wait: Part 4

DEAL

I achieved sub-leut on my 8th go

It is hard! perhaps instead of dropping so fast, there were more things shooting at you?

Hey thanks very much :D

Hmm... Maybe the towers should be easier to kill, and more things shooting up... I like having the fast descent of the bomber. The thing is, the horizontal speed of the bomber as it passes is also too much for the aim-correction of the original Flying Ninjas™ engine, I need to work on that. It doesn't help that I added y-axis gravity for the bullets.

I'm now honour-bound to play for as long as your NES lasts! I'll post a proper joining post thing for Dal Riada in a bit...

Muahaha, thankyou.

I almost cleared the second level now.. its quite hard to time the bombs!

It is awesome and I want the source code if its not closed source thank you very much.

COMPLAINT: The bombs recharge every "round" and not once the bombs go boom. I'm not sure how the original game went, but the other variation I played had a "max bombs at a time" instead of "bombs per round."

This question has been bugging me for a while now:
Why the hell aren't any Euro-American news stations talking about the recent Russian oil deals (they bought all of Uzbekistan's oil, will soon finish all of Central Asia's oil, made a secret deal with China that no one wants to talk about right after the Central Asian oil thing, and also started talking to Venezuela right after they finished in China). If Russia owns Central Asian oil, the only hope Europe has of not being dependent on Russia is if they and the US co-operate with Iran and build Nabucco into the Middle East instead of over/under the Caspian as previously planned. It's way more important than Lindsay Lohan dating a girl, however hawt that may be, yet no one's even mentioned it!

@those outside of Euro-America, have you heard anything about this? The original article I found was on "Asia Times" a few days ago.

Edit: silver is right: it is Turkmenistan.

Yes it was in the Times of India. Thought it was Turkmenistan though...hm...at any rate it made me happy because I like Russia.

Well the EU gets less of its oil and gas from Russia than one might think, particularly western europe (the UK for example gets 2% of its gas from Russia). I think there are a few german news stories about the deals, though my german is rudimentary, and I guess its because Russia isn't that scary - they can sell themselves to China for under the market cost if they like ;) (due to geography its its always going to be cheaper to pump from of some fields to the EU, if they want to jack up the costs and send it to china thats their problem).

In Denmark we can supply ourselves, even though the oil fields are owned by private corporations. Damn capitalism.

Britain mayn't, but Germany, Austria, etc, do get quite a bit of their oil from Russia. This deal significantly reduces the benefits of building Nabucco as long as Iran's not in on the deal (which, judging from US politicians' propagandist speeches about nuking Iran, won't happen anytime soon), and makes sure Russia doesn't lose its influence over eastern+central Europe anytime soon. About China: sure they lose a bit of money in the short run, but soon oil prices will go up in Europe, and assuming their secret deals with Venezuela and the like stay valid, they'll make quite a bit of money while also making sure Europe can't get too far ahead of them.

It's good to hear that there's more than one article about this (I was starting to think that it was a fake), but there's still nothing on bbc, cnn, al-jazeera, etc.

You must be ignorant not to see that stating these words are synonymes is fallacy.

Silver, I simply am to know reasonable (sane) and unreasonable (insane) emos, and I can tell the difference. There is difference between manic depression and bonding with your emotions.

Although, this is about flags, and I don't want to get the thread closed, so I will only reply to your next post if you argue with me, and then not talk about the unrelated topic anymore.

Its quite simply. Emo's are pseudo-depressed losers who cut themselves sideways for attention, wear black clothing and listen to bad music.

That makes them mental, because normal people don't do that.

as I understand it, it looks like a long term strategy move, assuming of course that the EU doesn't get annoyed and manipulates the US into invading someone or some similar coup :p

slightly more seriously, I do beleive that by the time russia starts being able to put this long term strategy into play, costs for extracting some of the more unobtainable oil in the world will have dropped, and if they havn't a Russian attempt to monpolise the oil is likly to MAKE it viable.

The United States is certainly countering the Russian move. It might not look like it (and I don't like how we achieved it), but we pretty much have a grip on the Middle East's oil supply. Sure, the occupation of Iraq went badly (though it's better now), but the message from the invasion itself was clear: the United States can project power more or less anywhere in the Middle East, enough so that we can win just about any war there. They would have to think twice before shutting off any oil.

Thanks for quoting me to WWW instead of the flag thread :)[/random]

Wrong. Mental people cut themselves to get attention, are pseudo-depressed etc.

Do you actually know an emo yourself? No, I don't mean as an aquantiance (sp?), but in person? I know several ordinary emos, and the only difference between the sane ones and other people is that emos are able to cry in public. And it's not if they broke a nail, but if they of some reason experience anything bad, ie if their girlfriend broke up with them the day before yesterday they are able to break down. And they don't ask for people to pay them attention, it's the other way around, they just don't see why they have to hide stuff like that below your skin.

Blimey, and who's to say that all emos cut themselves? That's only a weak generalization. All of the people that I know who cut themselves are not emos, they are normal pop folk.

...And also I don't see how wearing black clothes and listening to bad music makes you mental. :p Does it make me emo that I wear black clothing normally? (Except during the summer of course, then it's too hot)

People should cease with stating people are abnormal.

Do you actually know an emo yourself? No, I don't mean as an acquaintance (sp?), but in person?

Several. One of them has marks all over her arms from where she continually cuts herself sideways. I ignore that pointedly, I think she's stopped since because she's not getting any attention.

She's taken to posting pictures of her ass on facebook instead.

Have you seen the emo forums? Its horrible.

Exactly. Mental people do what emo's do.

People should cease with stating people are abnormal.

I don't mind the fact that their abnormal. I find that the concept of normalacy is very weak anyway. I mind the fact that emo's or the vast majority of them are pseudo-depressed-attention seeking-wannabe suicidal-losers. And their music sux balls.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.
