Well, that theoretically doesn't look too bad.
The graphics drivers are already from this year, so I would in most cases not suspect that they cause it, but since we saw that the Intel drivers from September don't work, but from October they do, I'd also here strongly suggest that you update them.
This should be the latest driver for you.

I'll give it a try and let you know.

But, besides the graphics glitch, this patch is great! I've only been able to get a couple of hours of playing time in, but it seems like a lot of work was put in to the combat movements of the AI. I returned to a game that I was already playing (immortal level) Am I wrong, but they seem to be doing a great job of advancing their line without exposing their ranged units?

Update your graphics drivers please. They are 2 years old, which is in the computer area a real eternity. This should be the correct driver for you.

You've been lucky. The game was not really meant to work on your computer.
And it seems they made some changes, which broke your luck :/.

You might want to try if the latest drivers for your graphics card (this one) makes a difference, but there's no guarantee.

The_J, I really appreciate you helping me out with this, but I'm not sure which one you want me to install. The first or the second (was the first directed at someone else?)

When I tried to do it through Intel before, Intel's auto-thingy told me that my graphics drivers were custom from the manufacturer and that they didn't recommend I use the Intel drivers.

I downloaded the latest drivers and fired up the game. Unfortunately the gray streaks are still there. I'll start a new game to see if the problem might be related to the mods I'm running. Any other ideas I should try?

Hey all,
long time lurker, first time poster. I wish we could start on better accords. I eagerly downloaded the patch, and found that all the bonus resource tiles stretched into lines. Another poster seemed to elude to that- I have all my settings as low as theyll go, and I have never had problems before. Any suggestions?
And sorry if this should be posted or merged somewhere else
Cheers

If the settings are already all set to low, then no, sadly no idea .

The second. The first was directed at siddoruk.

When I tried to do it through Intel before, Intel's auto-thingy told me that my graphics drivers were custom from the manufacturer and that they didn't recommend I use the Intel drivers.

Ignore that. They are in general certainly right, but we probably cannot fix this in another way.

Wow! Updated the graphics driver after downloading the ZIP version that you all were talking about from Intel.

Totally fixed the "laser line" effects I was seeing. Trust me, it works on this Dell Inspiron.

Thank you all for your links and suggestions.

Warmest Regards,
Suralle

PS: Follow the installation read me file to a T, the update of the driver must be totally done the correct way or all you get is the report that your old driver is the up to date.

Are you still seeing the "smeared" cow and dear after the driver update?

No, everything works like a charm or better then before.

Kudos! :goodjob:

The_J,
Thanks for your help. I installed the driver you suggested in post 40 and my problem (see post 39) still remains. I have generated a new dxdiag file:

Am I the only one who reinstalling the video driver hasn't helped (other than the guy DutchJob quoted)?

No, you are are not the only one. I updated my driver and the problem with the lines emanating across the map from animal resources still exists under DirectX 10/11. When I run it under DirectX 9, the lines do not appear.

Great to hear :).

mmhh...are you running the game under DX9 or 10/11?

Depending on your exact computer setup, your machine might not even support DX10/11. -> could you please also attach your DxDiag file?
