White lines in graphics / smear on resources

No luck, I got the Zip file and followed the instructions but when I clicked next (step 8) my computer said "the best driver software for your device is already installed" and it wouldn't let me continue.

uhh...
Then please uninstall the old driver first.
Not sure why this is a problem, normally it should work this way :dunno:

Hey,
So I uninstalled my video driver (Dell computer, HD Graphics controller), restarted, then attempted to install zipped version via Comp Mgmt, no go. Attempted setup file, same error. Had to install latest video driver from Dell. That didn't work either.

So I'm stuck as far as graphics drivers, I'm on the latest one I can install. I guess I'm hosed until the next "patch" from Steam. So annoying.

I've asked this before but is there a page on Steam's site for bug reports?

Wen Monday rolls around, we'll get on the line with Intel and see if they have any thoughts on how to get you guys updated.

It doesn't appear anybody else has had the same problem as me on here, but I'm glad I'm not the only one with problems. All animal graphics are expanded in lines that extend all the way across the screen. I first attempted to put everything on minimal resolution. Like everyone else, I did not have this problem before the patch.

You have the same problem like the majority of the people here: Outdated Intel graphics drivers. Please install the newest driver, and let us know if that fixes your problem.

Just after I posted above, I got through to Intel Auto update

I am win7 Home

So I downloaded and got 15.17.18.64.2555 (8.15.10.2555)

but sadly no success and I really thought I had cracked it.

oh, interesting. At least good to see that there's an auto update.
So, seems that maybe something in the graphical settings could influence this too.
Could someone, who has it now working, please post his settings, so that Hercules can compare/adjust/test his settings

So I attempted to download but got this error message:

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."

Hello! I am new, my first post, but I am here to see if anyone can help me... I have played Civ since Civ 1, then, well you all are about the same, now Civ 5. I play almost everyday now that I am retired.. however, during Civ 5 I went to use a Mod (Civilization NiGHTS v.117) and since then, there are long, horizontal lines from all my deer, sheep, whales, etc. All of them. Even when I got out of the Mod and went back to plain ol' Civ 5, they are still there. Also, the people move very stiffly and don't bend or work like they did.. Please help! Thank you for anyone helping! :confused:

Ever since I loaded the lastest patch there is a graphics problem with resources that move within their tiles; horses, fish, cows etc. The video of these resources is stretched so that all there is lines shaped like >>> across the entire sceen, making the game unplayable. Using DX11. DXDIAG attached - any help appreciated.

Hi. Got the fall patch auto-updated and now my animal resources and fish resources streak across the screen and my farm graphic is messed up. How to fix?

Mnboy and Roy cat you are the same as everyone on here. Some have updated their graphics drivers and resolved the issue, others (like me) can't update any more than we have now and are stuck.

If anyone has anything else, I'd love to hear it (graphics settings to change, etc). BTW, it's getting worse - I'll get a screenshot soon. Looks like the earth is black and red

How about this...is there a setting (I'm not sure which one it is if there is one) in Civ 5 Options that disables the animal automations so that we don't have to see the lines across the screen on every moving pelican, sheep, etc. This would resolve the issue enough. I could test every single setting but maybe you know which one it is.
