White lines in graphics / smear on resources

Your machine can only run DX10, and the game is not really optimized for that. Has this really been playable for you under DX10 before? Because I would think that this graphics chip is way to weak for that.

Up until this latest patch, I was running it fine under DX 10/11 with no loss of clarity or performance. I guess this patch increased the demands on the chip to a point where it cannot handle it?
 
If Civ can't run on a quad core i5 4GB RAM computer then it really has some issues to deal with. It was working fine for me also, no problems, until this "patch."

Ronjba, have you posted a DXDIAG? I would like to see what video you are running on.
 
I am having the same problem and Im not sure how to update my graphics driver. any advice.

Why should this be a user upgrade driver problem.

Besides the evidence that an update fixed it for 3 people, Mr. Shirk said that they've done some heavy opimizations together with Intel. Which means they changed quite a bit in the underlying graphics code, and the guys from Intel did as well. And that probably rendered it incompatible with older implementations.
 
I bought the game and G&K and played it. I never thought I couldn't play it. This sounds very close to breach of contract
 
If it works and there are Qs, why should I go through the hassle of updating Dell and or Intel drivers.

A purchaser shouldn't have to go through this.
 
I'm trying to install the driver using this method but my computer won't let me extract the driver files from intel...

At which point do you exactly have a problem?
Can you not download the .zip file, are you not able to extract it (if so: Is an up to date WinZip version [or similar] installed?), or is the extraction faulty?
 
The extraction is faulty, when ever I try to extract the win7vista_64_152257.exe file, My computer gives me the error message "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer." So thats strange
 
Having issues with work boats (see the original release topic on page 12/13). I also having huge blankets of grey due to slow graphics loading, which has never happened before!

I would post the DxDiag but I have no idea what it is or where to get it. Can anybody help please!
