White lines in graphics / smear on resources

Like already mentioned multiple times in the thread: It's a combination of advanced graphics optimization techniques (which come with one of the latest patches) and outdated graphics card drivers.

Ohhhh okay thanks. That makes more sense.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck is going on with this picture? My game does this every now and again, and I have no idea what is causing it. I've tried reinstallation of the game, updateing video drivers, and going back to save games. Nothing seems to work.

I am forced to use directX 9, because there have been no updated drivers that are compatable with the latest update with the game, and if I use directX 10-11, all of my animals are smeared across the screen.

Also, I am using the lowest graphic settings in the game.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me.

Please post your DxDiag file and we'll take a look.

Pardon my ignorance, but where do I find it?

Also, I noticed that every time this happened within the same game it has only occured when there was a Roman unit on the screen.

No Roman Unit = No messed up screen.

Now, I don't know if there was a Roman unit on screen in the other games I started that this happened in, or a different Civ unit.

In my prior post, the underlined text is a link with the instructions you seek.

Hope you can figure it out. :)

Your video drivers are three years old. That's probably what's causing the problem, although I know you looked for newer ones. I'm moving this thread to the Tech Support forum where you might get better advice than I can offer. Good luck!

Thanks Petek, your help is appreciated.

Is nobody able to help me out with this?

NOpe. Update tells me it is completely up to date.

And I wouldn't know how to look at the Generic Drivers from the chip manufacturer if my life depended on it.

I mean you've probably checked the website from Fujitsu, and there's no newer driver, right?
But did you also check Intel's website? It's an Intel graphics chip, they should have general drivers, which should be suitable for most computers.
...let me check...for you this driver should be the newest.

...and if I use directX 10-11, all of my animals are smeared across the screen.

Is what made me think of the other thread. If drivers could be found to fix that then he could use dx11 and not be forced to use dx9 which gives him this other issue.

Thanks J, I appreciate it, but I'm getting an error that the driver being installed is not valid for this computer.
