Crooks? Why do you call someone who's assets have multiplied while in office at the same time when poverty rates rise constantly and infrastructure goes unrepaired crooks? They're outright robbers, those sods.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic here? Typed words don't convey the tone...
Are you a pro-Argentina apologist? Justify their previous attack, then...

Both sides are in it for face, mostly. If it weren't that way, they could just arrange for a split in the profits.

As I said, cowards and weaklings, all of them.

Pffft. That was our fault.

Correction. That was Blair's desire to please his Bohemian Grove buddies.

;)

Yes, I am being VERY sarcastic. Argentina's ruled by the mob, and the kirchners are the frontmen. To my knowledge, their assets, landholdings, stocks, etc. have been multiplied at least by six since May 2003 when Mr. Kirchner took office. This is all posturing. In case you haven't heard, people here are looking at the institutional crisis. Mrs. Kirchner has said that she won't take into account Supreme Court ruling and that she won't obey Congress, even if she's obliged by the Constitution -I secured a copy- to do so. She's just sent in a decree which makes the BCRA (Argentina's Central bank and manager of currency, interest rates, bonds, holder of reserves, etc. etc) into the Executive's piggybank. The decree, to be legal, has to be approved by the Senate, but she's already spending the money.

ALL football championships have been fixed for years on end. Trust me, I've lived here since 1997
Btw, next champion is said to be Independiente, union leader Moyano's team.

Glad to hear it was only sarcasm - ! You had me worried!
Then we are singing from the same hymn sheet, sir!

That info you give really sums up the kind of eels that run Argentina.
They deserve better, but they fall for the lies like we do in the UK...!

The most dastardly of corrupt schemes! Fixing the soccer!

Cowards and weaklings = Politicians.

Totally agree there!

Just like the current bootlicker.

Indeed - Another teaboy for the men in black (robes)...

:)

Get me into power in the USA and I give you my word you need never question our support. Hell, I'd help you get India back!

All of India, not just what constitutes India today. Hell, include Afghanistan in the deal.

I tend to think Patton was onto something...
"Since it is evident destiny of the British and Americans rule the world, the better we know each other the better job we will do."
So yes, of course we will help you with India and Afghanistan and The Falklands. But we want Iceland.

Well, I'm actually an American.

That being said, I would rather the Brits deal with the Afghans and Paki's then us. They have a wealth of experience in that area. Plus, it would be on there dime.

People are people everywhere. The average inhabitant in the UK is not much better at political awareness than the average inhabitant here in Bananaland.

Do you want a list of fixed championships? It goes back to the military dictatorships of the '50s and even to the '20s.

Judge Fayt, a member of the Argentine Supreme Court -in theory, the equal of the President or even a superior- called for for the Mrs. Kirchner to have some 'mesura' (moderation, temperance, respect, in Spanish) in her speeches , to which the President replied -amid a horde of hired goons who are usually paid to cheer on- that 'mesura' rhymes with 'censura' (censorship/repression) and so the judge was an agent of the far right, etc. etc. evil man, etc. etc. and so should shut up. Clearly the President is not only a demagogue but also someone who will not abide by such puny rules as Constitutions, treaties, laws, court rulings, decrees, etc. etc that she HAS to obey. I need to get out of this country before it falls into yet another crisis as it usually does.

Reading through a couple of today's newspapers, it becomes more and more evident that Reagan knew what he was talking about:
Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.
The local government taxes the blazes out of me and in return they pay for hooligan firms to get tickets and accomodation at the World Cup in a couple months. Swell! My money goes to pay for drug dealers and protection racketeers!

Well, Mr. Kirchner, the real power behind the throne, has proclaimed that he's determined to stay in power 'til 2020. I really should do a bunk by 2015.
