I would go for beethoven. Nice piano-stuff.
However Orbital, Tangerine Dream, Underworld, etc are better

I voted for Beethoven because of his having overcome much personal adversity in his life. I am amazed that this man could compose such beautiful works while suffering from deafness!
His "Pathetique" is the most beautiful piano sonata, and one of my favorite works in all of classical music.

I don't think one can rate Beethoven or Bach higher (both IMO are a bit above Mozart). Mostly 'cuz you're comaring apples an oranges (again IMO).

its hard to decide! but bach because of his flute sonatas, and his chorales, i love mozart's operas and syphomnies, but he hated the flute. so he can't be that great...

What 's the big picture?
Bach revolutionized music more than anyone before or after him singlehandedly, and so paved the way for his successors. Besides that his music is chilling, it is constructed with a mathematical logic and despite/because of that very easy to grasp. Some themes lend themselves surprisingly well for pop & hiphop adaption. The music of Beethoven and Mozart is too complicated, unnatural for that.
Some say Bach was a freemason, or a magician. The last piece he wrote is said to contain precisely as many notes as he had days in his life.

I don't really like Baroque music, and I feel Mozart is mostly repetitive (OK, not as bad as Vivaldi, but you get my point).
Objectively, Bach is probably the greatest/most important of them all, considering what he contributed to keyboard music.

well, actually its backwards bach is more complex and mozart is simpler. the baroque period was all about emotions and complex meldies against complex counter melodies, etc. the classical period was all about order and simplicity, reflecting the reasoing and rational of the enlightenment.
and you second point about him putting the same amount of notes as days he lived, i can belive, he did things like that a lot. example, one piece he wrote the theme was his name, B (or b flat), A (a natural), C (c natural), H (in the baroque period h was sometimes used to mean b natural). pretty crafty, eh?
