Still in the top 200!!
Well, the race has been won but who is going to be runner-up (jeeze you can tell how f*cked F1 is if I can ask that at this stage in the season) - will Barichello make it?

I'm going to go for Montoya because he has got to start winning some races...

Yeah, they cant seem to get the tyres right or the reliability. I think the second of these factors will see Barichello make it into second place.

After yesterday, I think definately Barichello.

Especially after hearing Coulthard's comments on Montoya -

"It's alright being ballsy and a fighter but not when you destroy your own car when trying to over take someone. I think Montoya has big balls but a small brain"

:D

I agree with you now. Ferrari are just too good at the moment and Schumacher only needs to win one more race to get another record.

But does anybody really care?
I mean, second place...
Even the constructors championship is already decided, and yesterday was probably the worst Grand Prix ever. Although I have that feeling almost every time these days...

I dont care that much either after yesterday - I watched the highlights (about 30 mins of the "best" bits) on ITV last night and even that was boring!

Good comment from Martin Brundle on an easy way to make it a bit more exciting - get rid of the blue flag rule so the leaders actually have to overtake the back markers as they would if they were trying to gain track position. In the short term that may offer a solution to the Ferraris disappearing into the distance after the 3rd lap and generate some interesting arguments/fights between drivers like there used to be.

I don't think much of that, it would be pure luck, furthermore half of the teams are associated with Ferrari in one or another way, so it might even give them more of an advantage.
And after all it wouldn't be much more interesting to see them drive around without overtaking in shorter distances...

I still think the electronics should be reduced, so that the drivers have to actually drive more once again. Also the aerodynamics should be changed so that overtaking gets easier.

The problem with removing blue flags, would be that the leaders wouldn't be able to overtake the slower cars. Remember Coultard and Bernoldi in Monaco...

My 2 cents are that Ferrari team tactics are now focussed on the 2nd spot for Rubinho and one more victory for Schumi. They are so superior that there is not a lot that can stop them.

The FIA should come up with some rules to make it less boring. Not only the championship but also the races itself.

I think the modern tracks make overtaking really difficult - perhaps these have to be ajusted first then  Combine that with the blue flag thing and you'll have some good rough-and-tumble races

EDIT - interestingly, Brundle is Coulthard's manager so the Monaco thing must have been in his mind when he said that

I've read somewhere that reduced traction and braking power make overtaking easier (if applied to all cars :D ). The effect it is supposed to have is that the cars have to brake much earlier thus creating more time and room for overtaking.

Combine that with restrictions on the fast cars and you get more interesting close racing.

No, the reason there is no overtaking is because of the ****ty tracks. Most of the tracks are WAY too twisting for racing of any sort. Imola, Hungaroring, and a bunch of others are just snorefests. If the tracks were more diverse and, like the old Hockenheim, Spa-Fancorchamps, and Nurburgring, the races would be incredible. Road America deserves a spot in the championship, and any new tracks should be built with racing excitement and challenge in mind(Malaysia).

i think montoya is a bit overrated, and barrichello the opposite. (probably b/c of schumi) i think barrichello could beat montoya out even if he doesn't have a better car. remember, how many times RB retired to begin this season!
