I do tell her to use minimal soap. Most people use way too much soap.
All the product use is just advertisers influence. All you really need is a bar of natural soap (or some liquid soap with no artificial fragrance like Dr. Bronners) that should last you a year or more (you can shave with soap too), a toothbrush & toothpaste.

Soap is friggin awesome. I use soap all the time. I have no idea how even someone using only some soap could make a bar of soap last more than a month.
Most people are conditioned to think your "natural scent" is just stinky.

You just use a bit on your upper body, let the rest drip down, don't let the bar get wet. I used to use Ivory & the bar would last ages. Now I use Dr. Bronors liquid soap cause that's what my GF buys. You really only need about 1/2 a teaspoon for your whole body, it foams up well.
No one has ever commented I smell (except girls who tell me I smell nice) so looks like you're wrong.

Sure, if they're my friends. My friends point out all sorts of unfriendly things to me but never have been told I stink.
If you like you can come to NY and we can try to round up a bunch of random women & ask them if we can blindfold them & have them smell us without knowing who's who & vote on who smells the sweetest. Might be hard to pull off though unless we had corporate sponsorship (but who would want to sponsor an anti-corporate bastard like me, especially when I'd be proving healthy living pwns chemical coverups).
Well occasionally I'll give my feet a good scrub but only in summer if/when I've been walking around barefoot alot like a good hippie.
