Why does every say its the Reps. that are facist.........

Both parties are in favor of it. That probably means it is a bad idea.

Doubt the credibility of the commentary all you want I did. But you could always read the actual parts of the bill. I didn't say he was pointing to the dems. But to answer you.

Well then all I have to tell you is that I dislike the proposed bill as much as the Patriot act :)

But since the reps. are the evil fascists under emperor Bush and the dems. are the saviors who would never do anything to take away rights, how can that be when they pass, sponsor and support bills like this? If they were the anti-fascist then surely they would denounce such a bill.

I guess this is more addressed to people who called Republicans fascists, so I won't answer it.

Plus I never said it wasn't like the Patriot act. But since you brought it up. It isn't the Patriot act. If it was It would be the Patriot act. This is separate and
obviously not included in the patriot act, if it was there wouldn't be a bill all by it self.

*sigh* the only rights I can see being taken away are

a. The right to be a fruitloop
b. The right to "fight the power" from your moms basement

This isn't OZ and the Federal government are not the "wicked witch of the West."

Because Democrats are communist (at least Clinton).

Ultimatly in the normal and extreme cases Dems and Reps are exactly the same thing with a different wrapper.

The crowd that saw black helicoptors everywhere in the 1990's has now awoken from its slumber now that Hillary Clinton will soon be inheriting the gains in executive power made by the noble W. This isn't any worse (or better) than most of the tripe passed after 9/11. Did these guys have anything to say about the Patriot Act?

Actually this bill looks like a case of simple bureaucracy enhancement to me.

It calls for the appointment of a 10-member "NATIONAL COMMISSION ON THE PREVENTION OF VIOLENT RADICALIZATION AND IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE" (to be appointed one each by the senior executive and legislative office holders, paid at Assistant Cabinet Secretary daily rate, and supplied with assistants and supplies by the GSA) which will go research and hold meetings and hearings, it calls for the establishment of a university-based "CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE STUDY OF VIOLENT RADICALIZATION AND HOMEGROWN TERRORISM IN THE UNITED STATES", and directs the Director of Homeland Security to take a look at other nations' efforts to combat 'homegrown terrorism' and if constitutionally allowed, integrate good ideas into the DHS' current policies.

I'm not seeing any 'thoughtcrime' issues there.

The definition of "violent radicalization" is a little troublesome, but you're right--the main effect of this bill will be to increase the ranks of the underworked and overpaid.

I've seen nothing that even suggests that EITHER party strongly supports the ideology of Dirk Benedict's character in "The A-Team".

[Sorry, I know it's petty of me to quibble over a typo, but for some reason "facist" (fascist) makes me shudder even more than "rouge" (rogue)]. :)

Australia has significant experience with homegrown terrorism?

Jeez, I guess a lot has changed since left in September.

219 Democrats, and 185 Republicans voted for this bill. It looks like a bipartisan effort to me.
Rather than "how can a bill written by a Democrat be blamed on Republicans", you should consider the following:

If Republicans are--as many people accuse them of being--fascists, then they should be expected to write up or vote for stuff like this. When Democrats come up with fascist legislation--that is what should be alarming.

This is "authoritarian" legislation, and as such I'm not surprised that a majority of both parties signed onto it. When it comes to that political axis, Kucinich and Paul are shoulder-to-shoulder.

Excellent, this will pave the way for Comrade Mdm. Clinton in league with international Jewery to seize all the reins of power and crush the true noble patriots in this land fighting the invasion of the brown hoards. Once crushed we can begin the Democrat master plan of forcibly aborting all Christian babies to be used as bio-fuel to power the Israeli war machine. OR NOT.
