Why is Mt Fuji not a natural wonder?

I'm pretty sure it's more famous than Yosemite or Piopiotahi

What are the Japanese wonders in this game? Himeji Castle?

I think it's pretty clear. The game cannot have thousands of natural wonders... And the choice is up to the developers. I think Mt. Fuji was in Civ5? So maybe they decided to choose something else now.
And it can be added in any DLC.

It was in V, and they opted to go for a different selection.

For the same reason Mount Olympus, Vesuvius, Sunderbans, Ha Long Bay, Jeita Grotto, Komodo Island, the Lagoon of the Seven Cities, El Dorado, the Amazon, or any other is not : we simply can't have them all. I'm sure they'll add more Natural Wonders, by DLC or expansion, but at some point, a choice will have to be made ...

Why is Yellowstone not a natural wonder?

Why is the Mont Blanc not a natural wonder?

Why is Mount Erebus not a natural wonder?

Why is the Rock of Gibraltar not a natural wonder?

Why is Mount Tambora not a natural wonder?

Why is Lake Victoria not a natural wonder?

Why is...

Because choices have to be made. Which, really, is the answer to most of the threads you've made recently.

never heard of those places

And what does that matter? There's thousands of amazing places people have never heard of. Doesn't make them less awesome. I had never heard of Torres Del Paine before I started playing Civ6, but man that place is beautiful. Also, El Dorado is EXTREMELY famous, maybe even more famous than Mt Fiji, and on top of that it appeared in Civ5 as natural wonder.

Is this a real place? Still trying to google the place

As others pointed out, there are only so many spots for natural wonders. And even less so for mountains. Civ 5 had some of the most famous and important mountains in world history: Kailash, Mt. Sinai, Kilimajaro, Mt. Fuji, Uluru and that south american Silver mountain, whose name I always forget.
Now we have the Everest, Yosemite, Torres del Paine + Kilimanajro and Uluru again. The list of famous mountains to include is endless. I wish they wouldn't reuse any natural wonders. I'd personally wish for Machapuchare and Matterhorn.
El Dorado is more of an idea than a place, which doesn't make it unreal per se if you think about it. Same for the Fountain of Youth or Solomon's Mines. All three were in civ 5 nonetheless.
As you might have figured out already, there are no wonders from Japan in the game right now. This may change in an expansion. It's unlike to come with a DLC since those seem to include wonders (buildings and natural wonders) from the civ that they ship with.

El Dorado was a myth created by the natives of South America when they realized how greedy for gold the Spanish were. They told them stories about a city hidden deep in the rainforest, where gold was so common the whole city was built out of it. They succeeded in their intend to lure thousands of greedy Spanish into the rainforests, which are, of course, quite deadly. Despite being a myth, it was a natural wonder in Civ V, so there is no real reason it can't be in Civ VI.

El Dorado no, please, please, never include it again ... This is a legendary place of something that probably never existed. If it is to include El Dorado, why not Atlantis too? This would be awful

There are so many amazing places around the world that really exist, why would they opt for a legendary city that was never found? Even the Nazca Lines make much more sense for natural wonder than El Dorado.

Include this in a scenario, but please, not in the normal game.

Atlantis is included, albeit as a potential continent name.

Atlantis? It's just south of Avalon.

I would like to se as many Natural wonders as there are Civs. and each Civ starts near a wonder, but not too close that way a little exploration is needed.
That way you know you will have a Natural Wonder near your start location every game, it is just a question of which one.

Now imagine, that one player starts near Torres Del Paine, and another starts near Crater Lake. Which one do you think is going to pull ahead?

The fun part about natural wonders is that they're a matter of luck - one game you start with your capital in range of Torres Del Paine and buy a tile so you have a 4f3p unimproved tile (I actually have such a tile in my second city, grassland/forest/hills) and on top of that you can rush Astrology, get a good Holy Site up and grab an early religion. In another game, you don't start near a natural wonder, so no Astrology, no religion, no epic tiles. However, you might just start next to Auckland, take them as suzerain and focus on grabbing all coastal land you can find and then go for a science or cultural victory with the use of either being coastal (which is good because you have Auckland) or having that bonus production from coast. And in yet another game... Who knows, you might find that this AI next to you has flat land only, while you got two horse resources in range of your capital... Rush Horsemen and use the flat land to absolutely demolish the AI's troops and conquer his cities.

Fair Point . I guess in multi player also this would really hurt the players that got low tier NW's.

That's too much of a gift.
I would like a lot of different wonders, with different bonuses (and disadvantages!)
that can be chosen from, but they should be randomly (and fairly) allocated at
the start of the game.
