Why is there no cornbread in supermarkets?

The bread selection @ north american supermarkets sucks butt.

First of all 90% of all breads are toast-like - if you can easily squeeze a loaf into something the size of your first, it's not real bread.

Second of all, there is no second point.
 
Better to just use the mix. I don't think I've ever seen pre-made cornbread around here, even at Wal-Mart.

I have seen a lot of other Southern foods outside the South (grits, Louisiana hot sauce, greens, etc.).
