That sucks, bigtime:(. I just hope that the ancient methods of sculpture are not lost. Are there sculptors today who can still carve in the old style? It'd be a tragedy if there aren't. Chinese art is some of the best in the world.

Over here in India, the very best art is still the province of a few skilled artisans. You can find some examples of the best of modern Indian sculpture here, here, and here. Seems like nothing has changed over the millennia, has it? The wonder is, that temple which is shown in the links was inaugurated in November, 2005!

Wow Aneeshm, just wow! Is that a Hindu temple? Who pays for it, the State, private donors or the people through tithing? The Christians used to build big, beautiful Cathedrals, not anymore though :(
