Will there ever be..................?

Will there ever be a Civilization three or four for the Playstation 2?
There was a Civ for Playstation. I know it wont be as complex but after a while i hate all the problems that a computer creates. I would support the effort.

I also miss those wonder videos, I love the way they were orchastrated.

I don't know but I believe games like Civ and AoE are better suited for computers where arcade "first person shooter" type games are better for playstation.

Yeah IMO strategy games and sims are better on PCs
consoles are better for FPS(with a few exceptions) and adventure games and action games,
If they ever made another CIV console game i dont think it would be that good. Back in the SNES days when CIV I came out it was way better than any computer.

there is Civ 2 for PS, but man by the industrial age it was slow as hell. i havent played it once sonce Civ 3 came out.

I still occasionally meddle with Civ2 for the Ps, its a fun game but i cant get that far anymore because i get board. The only reason that i bought a computer was to play civ, i was waiting to buy it on the playstation, but i realized it wasnt going to happen. Although im happy i did buy this computer.

It might be faster, but It definitely cannot play ALL the games that the PC can, along with the internet, etc., etc., etc.

The PC is just overall a MUCH better system.

Not to mention much more expensive. When they do release the next generation of gaming platforms they will be much faster and have better graphics than the large majority of computers. Also it is entirely possible to put the internet on a console as the xbox has a hdd and the playstation2 is due for one in a few months.

I'll have to disagree about the FPS games. I find them terrible on consoles.

True, PS2, should be mainly 4 platform games, beet-em-ups &
racing games!

PC's are ALOT less reliable for gaming tho & some consoles have very good on-line gameplay

Well, I think there is no reason to debate out the merits of consoles vs Personal Computers/Laptops.

The main reason why I think it would be hard to make a PS2 version of Civ3 is simply that not everyone that has a console has a keyboard.

But if someone would dare to sell Civ3 bundled with a keyboard, hehe, why not?

A key board is a perk not a nessesity for Civ( ok a realy big Perk, but still, the ps's civ2 did without it!) but i do agree that it'd be cool if civ3/4 for PS2 would come with a keyboard!

Yeah but if the keyboard came with the game, id be a reason for the manufacturer to bump up the price $20. Im cool with the keyboard, it could lead to a whole new wave of Ps2 games, if Civ sells big.

I doubt it. Civ 3 is designed for computers also patches are usally required along the game for civ games, which ps2s cant get.

First person shooters are also better suited for computers. As far as I know, PS2 doesnt have mice.

Yes, patches are a necessity, and this means that the PS version would have to wait a few months to be released, so the devs could iron out the bugs in the PC version.
